"And here I thought finding the monsters would be the easy part of this hunt." An hour has passed since Arthur had left the cave but there wasn't a single trace of the monsters he had seen roaming around.
[Patience is also an important attribute Arthur.]
"I know but where could all of those things have gone? And it's not like they're invisible."
*rustle rustle*
"I just heard something." Arthur whispered while rushing to hide in a nearby bush. It was a three feet creature with green skin and pointy ears holding what seemed to be an old rusted blade. "Is that a goblin? Who would have thought I'd ever see one in real life."
[Yes, goblins are real as you can see. You can use your 'Third Eye' skill to check their stats, you can activate it by thinking about it.]
"Ok." Arthur does as Rex said and checks the goblins stats. "It's level one, that means it's very weak right?"
[Yes, they are the weakest creatures out there. But just because they're weak doesn't mean you should be careless because they never move alone.]
As Rex finished explaining, another goblin showed up.
"One was already a big problem, but now there's two? C'mon!" He says panicking.
[Calm down and think of a way to distract one of them so you can fight them one-on-one. It's the perfect time to put the conjuring skill your learned to use in battle.]
Arthur searches the ground for something to distract the goblin with. "Ah, this stone might work." He tosses the stone and one of the goblins goes to check.
[Now's your chance! Concentrate the energy on your fist and hit it with everything.]
"RAAAH!" Arthur roars, jumping out the bush and decking the goblin in the face with a powerful punch and smashing its head to the ground. "Hell yeah!" He yells in excitement.
[Don't celebrate yet, there's still one more.]
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that one."
*kieeek* the goblin screeched and charged towards Arthur. He augments another punch and waits for the goblin to get close enough so he can land another powerful punch.
"Don't miss the timing Arthur!" He says to himself. The goblin jumps at him, aiming a knife at his chest. He punches the goblin straight in the face, sending it flying. "Did I kill it?"
[Don't jinx it.]
And just as Rex said, the goblin got up again, shaking its head and looking around for the weapon it dropped.
"Why isn't it dead?" Arthur asked, with a shocked expression in his eyes.
[You used up most of your magic energy when you fought the first goblin. It seems the energy you had left wasn't enough to one-shot the second goblin. You're gonna have to finish it off without magic.]
"What? But how can I?"
[Pick up the weapon the first goblin you killed dropped and use it.]
"But I've never used a sword before, heck I'm not even good with a kitchen knife."
[Just do it, you don't have much time. It's picking up its weapon.]
"Ok ok." Arthur searches for the weapon and picks it up. And just like in the games a window appears in front of him.
"Woah."
[It's coming! Focus.]
As the goblin charges at Arthur, he charges back. Heart pounding and breathing at the top of his longs he clashes with the goblin, severing its arm but also getting slashed on the thigh as he was too exhausted from all the adrenaline and the overuse of aether.
They both draw back and charge at each other again. Arthur kicks sand in the goblin's eyes and then stabs it in the head, killing it. The battle is over and Arthur is still in a daze, thinking about the battle and how he did all that when he's never fought before in his life.
"How did I do that? It's like I just knew what to do, like I've been using the sword my entire life. I could feel my heart pounding and saw everything I could use to my advantage."
[That is Weapon Mastery. And the more it levels up the more vast the weapons you can use become, plus it also increases your battle iq. The more you fight the more it grows.]
Just as explained by Rex Abi the window pops up.
"That's cool, but I'm all battered up right now, and I kinda feel light headed. I think I'm gonna…" Arthur collapsed to the ground unconscious, due to the bleeding and aether exhaustion.
