Chapter 36 - Harmony and Hidden Emotions, 36.

The night was perfect, and Callum concluded that this would be his life from now on. He didn't feel like a man ruled by desire, but he never lacked for company in his bed; he was an Alpha Prime, after all, and his personal needs were high.

However, he couldn't help but like the feeling of starting a family and continuing the Campbell line. An ideal had always guided his personal life. He valued it above all else. He wanted to conquer the world, to be the best!

That was his constant thought—to conquer and conquer some more. But now he wanted to get married. His first plan was to continue to live according to his own ways—without being disturbed by anything.

Aster was discreet, led a simple and invisible life. And today he noticed that the young Omega was behaving very well, despite some small obstacles that needed to be solved. And most of all, Aster pleased his grandfather Mallet.

As Callum immersed himself in the atmosphere, he felt a sense of satisfaction. He was pleased with how everything was fitting together in perfect harmony. The meeting with Aster's family had gone well, and he admired how Aster behaved with grace and elegance, making a positive impression on everyone, including his esteemed grandfather.

Although he had initially imagined living by his own rules, he now realized that embracing Aster's world would enrich their relationship and bring new perspectives to his life. He admired Aster's simplicity and saw how they complemented each other.

Although he didn't love Clarice, Callum couldn't deny that he didn't dislike her either—quite the opposite. He had never felt bored in her company, but his ambition drove him to new conquests, and marriage had always been a secondary consideration, and now destiny had changed.

He was determined to marry and be with Aster, and things were out of his control, but he had to bring suitability, predictability, and security.

This change in perspective caused Callum some anxiety. He knew he was leaving behind a life that, while not entirely satisfying, was comfortable and predictable. Now he was about to embark on an uncertain journey and adjust to life with Aster, an Omega who would challenge his expectations and test his beliefs.

But Callum also realized that this uncertainty was what made him feel more alive than ever. Aster's presence ignited a burning flame in his heart, and he couldn't help but fall in love with every detail of the young Omega.

Dinner ended and everyone settled into an elegant room decorated in a sophisticated Victorian style. Large windows adorned the walls, allowing moonlight to flood the room. The floor was covered with marble, and an elegant staircase led to a second floor. Crystal chandeliers in gold, black, and blue gave the room a soft and luxurious glow. The scent of scented candles filled the air, creating a cozy and sophisticated atmosphere. The grand piano, a centerpiece of the room, exuded an aura of majesty and inspiration.

As everyone settled in, Mr. Mallet began to recount, in his firm and captivating voice, the momentous events of his life and the history of the Campbell family. Aster listened intently, fascinated by the stories and the rich family tradition. His eyes lit up as he noticed the piano, the object that most caught his attention in the midst of so much grandeur.

Lord Mallet, noticing Aster's interest in the instrument, decided to ask if he also played a musical instrument.

Aster promptly replied yes, and shared how his interest in music was sparked by his friend Damián, who used to play two particular tunes: "Swan Lake" and "Waltz of the Flowers" (The Nutcracker).

These were Janine's two favorite children's stories as a little girl, a detail that does not belong to this world, so it could not be explained. He did reveal, however, that his favorite instruments were the cello and the violin.

Lord Mallet, excited by Aster's answer, kindly asked him to play something on the piano, adding that his son Gordon also loved music and played the guitar and cello. He told stories of Gordon playing his instrument with Elizabeth Kadman when they were young.

The magnificent grand piano. The dark, polished wood reflected the candlelight, creating a play of shadows that enhanced its grandeur. As he approached, he felt the smooth texture of the keys under his fingers, excitement and nervousness mixing in his chest. The soft scent of wood and wax gave a sense of familiarity and warmth.

Aster adjusted the bench and carefully positioned himself in front of the piano, his posture upright and his hands resting on the keyboard. The atmosphere in the room fell silent, and all eyes turned to him in anticipation.

He began to play Debussy's "Clair de Lune," his hands dancing lightly on the keys. The soft and ethereal sound of the piano filled the room, enveloping everyone in a charming melody. Each note was played with precision, showing Aster's skill and emotion in interpreting the piece.

As the music unfolded, Aster expressed subtle emotions on his face. His eyes closed in moments of ecstasy, and a gentle smile played on his lips as he surrendered to the beauty of the music. His body moved gracefully, following the rhythm and expression of the melody.

At the end of "Clair de Lune," there was a brief moment of silence in the room, broken by the soft applause of those present. Aster felt the warmth of recognition, but he didn't let it completely envelop him. His devotion to music came from a deep place in his heart, and he was eager to share more of his passion with everyone present.

Without hesitation, he continued with Satie's Gymnopédie No. 1. The soft and melancholy notes mingled with the air, creating an introspective atmosphere. As he played, Aster let his emotions flow freely, conveying the sense of longing and nostalgia that permeated the piece.

Next, he immersed himself in the delicacy and charm of "Comptine d'un autre été" by Amélie, bringing a sense of sweetness and enchantment to the room. His fingers danced agilely on the keys, skillfully and gracefully leading the music.

Finally, Aster concluded his performance with "Una Mattina" from Intouchables, bringing a blend of serenity and hope to the melody. His touch was soft and captivating, as if he were telling an emotional story through the musical notes.

As the last note resonated through the room, silence settled once more, filled with the emotional echo of the music. The gazes that fell upon Aster were filled with admiration for such a captivating and inspiring performance.

Aster, still immersed in the emotions of the music, looked at each person present with humility and warmth. His eyes sparkled with the satisfaction of sharing his passion with them. He knew that music was a universal language that transcended barriers and connected hearts, and at that moment, he felt a deep connection with each person in that room.

While the music floated in the air, a shadow of sadness passed over Sarah Campbell's face. Lord Mallet's words brought forth painful memories, as Gordon and Elizabeth had grown up sharing many experiences and emotions.

Callum realized, with growing admiration, that his omega was a true treasure. How had no Alpha before noticed the preciousness that Aster was? With every moment, the young man revealed new facets that charmed him even more. His piano performance, for example, was worthy of a professional musician, and his grace at the table showed that he had been educated with refinement. The combination of artistic talent and social finesse left Callum intrigued. Could being just an artist justify such grace and skill?

In some way, Callum felt magnetically drawn to Aster, even when there seemed to be no obvious connection between them. It was as if their souls were destined to meet, despite apparent differences.

When Aster's performance concluded, Mr. Mallet applauded enthusiastically, expressing his sincere admiration for the young omega's talent. Aster responded with a gracious gesture of thanks, showing his gratitude for the warm reception.

Realizing that he had to be careful with his answers, Aster smiled charmingly and replied, "Oh, these songs are not my creations. I came across them through an unknown professional musician. They are melodies from a distant region where music is uniquely and enchantingly appreciated, but they are not part of the culture of the country (Y)".

Callum's grandfather persisted in his questions, showing genuine interest. Aster shared his passion for music and revealed that his friend Damián was the one who sparked this interest.

"Shall we?" Callum held out his hands, stood up with a smile and pointed to another place.

Aster replied with an equally charming smile, "Yes, of course!"

As they left, Lord Mallet watched the couple ascend the marble staircase, impressed by Aster's presence, and commented with satisfaction that he liked the young man.

Sarah couldn't deny that the night hadn't been unpleasant, but it was still far from perfect. There was a mix of feelings within her as she watched the encounter between Callum and Aster, but she preferred to keep her thoughts to herself.

Callum began to climb the wide marble steps of the staircase, and Aster followed him to a large gallery upstairs. The mansion looked even more impressive from above, with its elegant details and crystal lighting reflecting an atmosphere of sophistication.

As they walked through the gallery, Callum approached Aster affectionately and kissed her, revealing how much he had missed her. Aster's heart warmed at the gesture.

"I don't think you miss me that much, Aster," Callum teased his Omega with a smile.

Aster chuckled softly, enjoying Callum's playful banter. "You know I miss you all the time, but I didn't want to be too obvious," he replied, looking into Callum's eyes, lying with tenderness.

At that moment, Callum took the opportunity to ask, "Why did you leave me like that at the restaurant?"

Aster looked down for a moment, feeling a little guilty. "I didn't want to cause any embarrassment or discomfort for your ex-partner or you."

The answer was not hard to hear, he had expected it. Callum looked at Aster, with whom he was starting a new relationship.

But Aster didn't dare to question or ask what was going on, he just walked away. He just walked away from him.

Callum gently held Aster's hand, understanding the Omega's reasons. "I understand, Aster. And I don't share your concern about it. I don't want you to withdraw when we are together. You are part of my life and my life," he said kindly.

Aster smiled, feeling touched by Callum's understanding. "I want to be a part of your life as well, Callum. And I'm happy to be here with you and your family," he replied, squeezing Callum's hand gently, even as he rolled his eyes inwardly.
