Allison's POV:
"What?" Hannah and Maeve asked in unison.
"Yes…" I told them.
Hannah swallowed down the whole bite of bacon and eggs and continued, "What do you mean by fake Mr. Harris? Who is that?"
"I don't know… He was someone pretending to be Mr. Harris and he asked me to do some things" I told them.
"What things?" Hannah got curious and putting her fork down, she continued, "What exactly happened? Tell me the whole story"
"See, I came here, went to the admission's office for the formalities and then that guy… I can't remember his name…" I rubbed my forehead and tried to recall his name. "Yes! Mr. Smith, Mr. Henry Smith…" I added and they nodded while I continued, "So he asked me to go to Mr. Harris for the instructions and other admission procedures"
"Okay…?" Hannah got curious while Maeve was eating constantly while looking at me in curiosity. Apparently, no one would ever imagine that Maeve could eat that much and so hurriedly.
"So I walked inside the building and came across a girl… Her name was um… Liz… something, Elizabeth…" I jumped and said.
"Oh you met the wrong girl…" Hannah said and shook her head.
"Yeah now I think so…" I got anxious.
"You – you continue with your story…" Hannah said curiously.
"Okay… So Elizabeth told me that Mr. Harris was in the mini cafeteria and described him quite weirdly. I went there and met this guy… He looked quite strange, eating a hot dog and wearing that strange outfit…" I recalled him and added to myself, "I should have understood everything there only"
"Continue…" Hannah said and tapped on the table.
"Yeah, so… He asked me to do something to prove myself as a senior. When I asked him what I can do… He told me that I would have to ask a guy… There was a random junior guy in the ground outside the building… who was smoking. So I was supposed to ask him to put that cigarette out on that fake Mr. Harris's demand… And I did… After that… he ran away… That fake Mr. Harris ran away from there…" I completed resentfully.
"Oh my God…" Hannah said and threw her head in her hand while Maeve stopped eating and began looking at me with her eyes wide open.
"Poor you… Those people did a prank…" Maeve finally spoke up.
"Yes they did…" Hannah said in frustration.
"Do you guys know who they are?" I asked them anxiously.
"You met Elizabeth so obviously it started with her. And Elizabeth is friends with many bastards… It could be Luka or Jason" Hannah pointed out.
"Or Niall?" Maeve suggested.
"No, Niall never gets involved in such pranks. If he does something then it's always something big… So he won't be a part of this prank… Camilla could be involved as well" Hannah said dubiously.
"Camilla? That girl you told me about?" I asked her.
"Yes…" Hannah replied and continued, "They are like that… So it has to be them"
I shook my head in resentment while Maeve started, "But you should know this… That people do smoke in this school. Not inside the building but in the ground… Yes"
"So they are just allowed to smoke like that? The teachers here aren't against that? Or their parents?" I asked her.
"Allison…" Hannah started and held my hand. "Parents here are not as much involved in their kid's life and most of them don't even care if their daughter or son are smoking or whatever. And as far as the teachers are concerned then the students tend to avoid smoking whenever some teacher is near them. They do it furtively, you know…" Hannah explained and continued to eat the bacon and eggs leaving me wonder about this school and the students here. I couldn't believe her. Students smoking secretively. Parents don't care. Teachers are not that strict. What kind of school is this? And what kind of people live in this town? I thought in frustration.
"But you don't worry… I'll help you find out that fake Mr. Harris" Hannah said.
"So should I complain about him?" I asked her.
"I would say… no" Maeve suggested while drinking the juice.
"Why?" Hannah asked her.
"Because then they won't leave her. They will not let her complete her senior year peacefully" Maeve said.
"I – I can't afford that" I said and leaned back.
"No… You shouldn't sit back and ignore everything Allison… I am with you and I will be there every time. They won't do anything… Trust me" Hannah said and placed her hand on mine.
"Are you sure?" I asked her.
"Of course I am…" She said confidently. I don't know why, but I felt like trusting and believing her. I felt like she was genuine with me and she actually cared for me. I wanted to believe in her and give her a fair chance.
"Okay…" I said distressfully.
"Just don't worry… You'll be fine" She said and patted my hand and I nodded and smiled at her.
"Although, I am a bit coward but I'll be with you too… And I can, at least against those people" Maeve added in frustration and Hannah chuckled.
"Thank you guys… You both are really sweet and nice. I don't know what I would have done if I wouldn't have meet you guys" I said and smiled at them.
"Enough with the emotional talks… Let's just go and see if that was Luka or Jason…" Hannah said.
"Yeah… It feels like we are going on a mission or something" Maeve said excitedly and I chuckled.
As we came out of the cafeteria after Maeve and Hannah completed their luxurious breakfast, we started walking towards the staircase and climbed that up. As we were walking through the corridor, Maeve stopped and started looking at her left heel as it was bothering her. While Hannah was helping her out, I noticed a guy who was smoking while leaning to a pillar and talking to someone. I couldn't see his face as the pillar was behind him and he was leaning with his back to the pillar. I realized that Maeve told me that people smoke in the school but not inside the building, so I decided to ask him politely to put his cigarette out…
