I heard the thump before it actually arrived. My brain was just getting a break when the vengeful stench of violence hits my nose. Something was headed our way, I whispered. And I ran all the way to the elevator, taking myself to the top deck. And sneaking out of the door there. I made sure it didn't lock while I was still outside. My fingers had just tightened around the sliver railing when the thump resounded. The boat took the impact, but it didn't shake. Something had bumped into us.
Peering over the edge, I saw what it was. Or an outline of a dark figure, swimming away at an immense speed. It disappeared into the distance, but the smell of danger existed for a reason. It was gathering momentum, and I didn't want it to damage the ship.
I turned, bolting back inside. Closing the door, and sealing the latch.
Find Dante, was the first thing to cross my mind. I entered the lift again, reaching for one my husbands through the space of my mind.
