Aesther took in a shaky breath but refused to explain herself.
Her breaths were erratic from both fear and resentment, but also with the faintest trace of elation. This time, she knew she was going to ruin his wicked schemes.
She would ruin him.
Ezrahl looked down at her silently, saying nothing.
"Did the Alpha send you?" she asked.
He could not have entrusted Ezrahl to carry out a mission involving something as critical and dangerous as goblin fire. Ahzure would have been the better choice.
"You were not in the castle."
She said no more words after that.
If that was the case, then Ezrahl was simply there to keep her from escaping, to bring her back, and then things were bound to worsen.
