Chapter 24 - RATS IN THE KING'S CHAMBER

Author had decided to explain who he was and why he came to the palace to the palace to the princess but leaving out some details.

The princess was supprised to hear that but she showed no sighns of anger.

Author wanted to test out what the princess could do at the moment with her ability and how she could help him achieve his goal, so they both headed out to the palace garden to search for an insect or animal.

The duo arrived at the palace where they first met in search of an animal. Author with the help of his sharp senses, spotted a bush some distance away. But Kora never knew where to begin while using her powers.

' According to the system, she could tame and control any animal. What I don't know is how she is supposed to that.'

(( It is similar to what you do create spells. She would have to draw out some of her blood before making any spell, for magic requires sacrifices.

The next step is that she should try to feel the energy in her and think of what she wants to do. She must have no doubts while Carrying out this process.))

--

Author explained everything that was said to him by the system, to Kora. She closed her eyes and elongated her nails and deeped it in her palms to draw out blood which was a trait she learned from Author, then she started meditating.

At first she saw a smaller light in her subconscious mind and the more she believed, the more the light grew bigger and brighter.

She oppened her eyes and thought of what she wanted to do.

The bush rat suddenly turned around leaving what it was doing and started approaching Kora. It continued moving until it stopped infront of Kora.

The rat made some sounds and Kora discovered that she could communicate with it. From the conversation, she discovered that the rat was the leader of a rat pack.

" Go and call your friends." she said.

Author never understood what was going on and he couldn't believe he just saw a rat turning around and heading into the forest when it was told to go call it's friends.

" Pfft..You don't really believe it's going to bring a whole pack of rats here do you?" Author asked teasingly.

But to his supprise the bushes ahead started shaking and rats started coming out of it and it continued until about a thousand of them were infront of them, with the leader infront.

Kora couldn't help but smile at this archievement

" I feeling like to throw up. Oh My God.. Bleeeegh." Author could not stand the sight of so many rats in one spot.

Kora turned and looked at Author and asked.

" Will this be enough to help you?"

Author who was standing as far away as possible from the pack of rats, could not say anything but he just gave a yes nod.

Kora gave the rats some instructions before the duo headed back to Author's room.

The rats entered the palace too through their secret routes and they were all to meet at Author's room.

" Now we must make a plan. First you must send a rat to confirm if the crystal is truly inside the king's chambers." Author said.

Kora summoned the leader of the pack of rats and it left their hiding spot and approached it's master then Kora gave it instructions through her mind and the rat went to do it immidiately.

After a while the rat returned and made some sounds to Kora, which Author assumed it was telling it's master something.

" It has confirmed that the crystal is present in the king's chamber and there are ten guards around that area." Kora said to Author.

" Good, now we can head to face two of the plan." Author replied.

" Wait you said you will find a way to escape safely on your own wich means after this is over, we will separate from each other but you can't tell me this is good bye right?" Kora said with an emotional look on her face.

" Let me give you a clue. After this I would be heading to the kingdom school for my next mission so you will meet me there." Author replied calming Kora down.

" I will miss you." The Princess said as she gave Author a tight hug.

The hug had stayed for an akward long time so Author cleared his throat before saying.

" The mission."

" Oh sorry." Kora said with red jaws.

She tried to compose herself before looking at the rat (who was covering it's eyes not to see such an emotional scene ....f---ck). She turned and looked at the rat as it stood there waiting for it's master's oders, then she said.

" It's time for face two, go and call your friends."

Infront of the king's chamber, two guards are standing straight with their hands on the handle of their swords waiting to take it out and strike at any moment.

The silence had been too long before one guard decided to break the silence.

" Hey max."

" Yeah," The other guard responded.

" How does it feel to be married? I mean having just one woman every night and seeing her face everyday, does it not border you?" The order guard asked.

" Trust me man, if you love your wife it won't bother you, so go for a woman you love." The other guard replied.

" I guess so. What is that?" The guard spotted a small thing moving on the floor and took out his sword.

The other guard took out his sword too and moved infront.

" Hahaha don't tell me you are scared of a rat? Hahaha." The guard was laughing but when he looked at his friend, he had a scared look on on his face while looking at something behind the latter.

The guard turned and looked behind and he couldn't believe his eyes.

" Waaaaaaah raaaats runnnnnn!"

The king was enjoying his peaceful sleep when he heard his guards screaming outside.

" What sort of knight will shout because of a rat? I would have to fire them for this." Said the king.

The guards had ran away so the rats proceeded to enter the king's room through their secret routes.

Some where in a kingdom, in a Grand Castle, a king could be seen running out of his room.
