After crying for an hour, Melantha stood up and performed the burial rites for her mother and buried her. A week had gone by when Melantha decided to fulfill her mother's last wish. She began digging at a spot close to the Old Willow tree and found a letter, a locket, a bracelet, some money and lastly a pendant in the shape of a leaf all inside a box with intricate design. She opened the letter and it read:
Dear daughter,
By the time you would have found this letter, I would have left the surface of Earth. Melon, I want to tell you a secret I have been hiding for a long time now,the secret is I am not your birth mother. The first time you came to me was in the arms of a young lady in Alvodia palace attire. I was stunned by how cute and unique you look that I fell in love with you immediately. I decided to take care of you when she left you with me. Melon,you have been my bundle of joy in my years of loneliness. I have been happy ever since you came to me.
I want you to take the bag of money you see on the floor and go to Fang's Nation to find my sister, Monica, she will be of great help to you.The locket and necklace was on your body when you were brought to me. The locket contains the picture of your birth mother. I hope you will find out what happened to your parents and your Homeland. This is my last wish Melon.

Melantha was shocked when she learnt that Miss Ann wasn't her birth mother, she decided there and then to start on a journey to Fang's Nation. There was nothing much to pack in the house,she picked up her bag and began a journey that will very much change her life forever.
At around mid noon, she arrived at a Brook and knelt down to drink some water and fill her containers when she heard a whimpering sound coming from the bush behind her. She stopped what she was doing and went to the bush. There she saw a fluffy animal with one of it's hind legs up, when she went to take a closer look, she was surprised, it was a dog!!! what was a dog doing in the dangerous Alvodian dark forest. A forest known for its ferocious beasts, poisonous insects and plants.
Melantha immediately picked up the dog and saw that a thorn had pricked it's hind leg. She bent down and removed the thorn for it.
"Thank you, my lady. I will remember your favour"it said to her.
" You can talk" Melantha was surprised that the dog can talk.
" I am a spirit beast my lady. A rank higher than the normal beast you can here. My name is Nola. I got lost here when I was following my siblings and my mom to look for food." Nola said to her.
"Well, I am in need of a companion to journey with me , why don't you join me on a journey to Fang's Nation"Melantha said to Nola
