Chereads / AUTO-BATTLE? WHAT A BORING SKILL / Chapter 45 - Progress requires hard work (PART 2)

Chapter 45 - Progress requires hard work (PART 2)

Just after resting for that day, Seth went and entered the next Demon Gate Dungeon.

Notice: Entered Demon Gate Dungeon (Level Requirement 175).

Notice: Demon spawns in sight.

"I cleared the first one in two days. I think this will take another day or two as well. Uriel, do your thing."

Notice: Taking over to annihilate all the demon spawns in progress.

Rim turned into his HoarFrost Dragon Lord form and Uriel spread out all Seth's Dark Shadows.

(This will take a while to clear out all these 60,000 demon spawns. I should think of a better combat strategy whilst Uriel is taking over. My "big damage burst in and out of combat style", has a lot of flaws with the earlier enemies I've fought so far.)

While Seth was busy grinding the second demon gate dungeon, Lady Alice and the group was handling a tough situation.

A Sea serpent popped out of the water. It leaned toward the ship's open deck and made the ship unstable and hard to move. Everyone was panicking as they didn't expect such an occurrence since they took the long and safe route for travel.

"TAKE COVER! THE SEA SERPENT IS PREPARING TO ATTACK!"- a crew informed all the passengers who were in their rooms.

"Lady Alice, quick... here... we need to take cover!"

"And they said that this was the safest route! Yet there is a water serpent attacking our ship!"

*Wooooshhh...* The sea serpent blasted a jet of water toward the ship as it bore a hole through the ship.

The captain then shouted, " All adventurers on board, prepare to re-engage!"

"Sir! The ship... it's slowly going to sink if we let..."

"Then we don't have any choice. I also can't manage the ship with that thing nearby. We need to deal with that thing first as long as this ship is still afloat."

All adventurers who were on board, although not many, began their attack. Since they didn't anticipate such a scenario, they weren't prepared for how to properly address it and so they just hoped for the best and cast their skills.

Although they all knew they couldn't win the fight and are scared, it had to be done. There was nothing left for them to do except fight it.

"Armament Buff! Protection Shield lesser. Blessing of Resistance! Attack Enhancement lesser! Defense Enhancement. Aura Boost! Speed Enhancement. Hunter's Sight! Steel Body!"

After the backlines have buffed up the frontlines, they all cast their offensive skills for supporting damage.

"Piercing Arrow! Blinding Light! Wind Slash! Breath of Fire!"

"Blazing Sword! Stone Smash!"

They all tried their best to fight the sea serpent but it only dealt a small amount of damage. The group heard the fight downstairs in their room and they also went to join in the fight. Zeal and Gester went up and they left Aila to be with Lady Alice.

After a few seconds or so, Zeal and Gester couldn't believe what they saw. The sea serpent was almost as big as half of the ship. Almost his whole body was outside of the water as it was leaning on the ship.

They saw the other adventurers trying to attack it but their hits would either be ineffective or deal little damage.

"What is going on? Why is a level 120 Sea serpent here?"

"I don't know. But I think we need to help them out."

"Are you insane? We can't kill that thing! Its level is five times ours and his health would regenerate faster than what we can damage it with. This ship is full of adventurers all below level 50. That is why it was taking the long and safest route. Why is this happening!"

"Gester! Calm down. It's already here. I know you are barely coping with your seasickness right now but there is nothing we can do but give it our all. As the leader of our party, I order the both of us to help out in fighting that sea serpent!"

Gester was hesitant but he also didn't have a choice. Although it looks futile, they needed to help and see for themselves the outcome.

The two of them went to the frontlines and attacked the sea serpent. The sea serpent retaliated, slamming its head toward the adventurers which knocked them all back. It wounded some and the hit was almost fatal to most.

"Gester, are you ok?"

Zeal handed him a small healing potion as he watched him bleed.

(Are we really done for?)

While the whole adventurers' team was in anguish, they heard the sea serpent shriek in pain.

*GRAAAAAAWWWWRRRR...*

Zeal looked at the sea serpent and a deep cut was seen in its neck. Someone who walked up from the lower deck then said, "I took this ship because I wanted to relax and I see a monster attacking it? This world really wants to destroy my peace, huh?"

He shouted again, " True Strike. Reality Eclipse!"

After saying that, in a couple of seconds, a big slash cut off the sea serpent's head.

"Hey, captain! make sure you are traveling in safe waters! I don't want to be woken up for such stuff. I'm going back to sleep."

Zeal observed the person who did it. He couldn't believe that he only saw that the one who did it was level 60.

(There is no way that person is only level 60. With one skill, he killed that sea serpent.)

Two days passed and Seth hit level 198.

LVL UP! LVL 198.

Notice: 55,432 demon spawns were killed.

Notice: Precision Skill mastery trait for sword upgraded from 'Sword Dance' into 'Sword Soul Keeper'. -increase weapon damage of sword by 50%. (Max)

Just a couple of hours passed and Uriel cleared out all of the Demon Spawns before the day ended.

LVL UP! LVL 200.

Notice: The throne room is open. 6 Vice-general demons have spawned along with the Demon General.

"Uriel, I'm taking over. I'll make this quick."

Notice: Enemies in sight.

Demon General:

Plague Invoker, The Propagator of Corruption (Level 200)

Hp: 3,500,000

Mp: 5,000,000

Speed: 500

Defense: 75,000

Magic Defense: 35,000

Attack: 150,000

Magic Attack: 350,000

.

Vice General Demons:

Gargoyle, The Flying Plague Guardians (Level 180)

Hp: 1,500,000

Mp: 500,000

Speed: 750

Defense: 50,000

Magic Defense: 50,000

Attack: 200,000

Magic Attack: 200,000

.

(They all look pretty weak. The Demon General has a lower Hp than the boss from the Ruin of Luminosity but that Mp means it's going to be a heavy magic-oriented boss. As for the Vice generals, all I can point out is they are fast-flying beasts that can easily snipe my Dark Shadows.)

"I thought fighting bosses alone is easy but they always have some form of dealing with my summoned units."

Notice: Plague Aura is in effect. The user will take continuous damage.

(Since this boss doesn't have many defensive skills, my teleport combo might work.)

Notice: The boss is conjuring an area of effect attack.

"Teleportation. Teleport Strike! Reality Eclipse. Teleportation."

*ACCCKKK...*

(I knew it. This boss only has nuke and damage over time skills. Its speed is pretty low but its magical attacks must hurt.)

"Teleportation. Teleport Strike! Reality Eclipse. Teleportation."

He hit the boss again as he dodged every skill and attack of the gargoyles. Although the gargoyles are fast, they couldn't match up to Seth's speed while teleporting.

Seth continued to pressure the boss with his combo and it eventually wear the boss down.

Notice: The Plague Invoker's Hp is below 20%.

Notice: The user's hp is below 70%

(I guess that Plague Aura is still damaging me.)

"Anyway, this is a piece of cake. Rim, get out and man-fight this boss. I'll just clean up these gargoyles."

(Teleportation. Teleport strike! Teleportation. Teleportation. Teleportation. Teleport Strike!)

Rim popped out of Seth's bag. Since the boss was almost dying, Rim finished the job.

Notice: All gargoyles have been killed.

After one final blast from Rim's attack, the boss finally died.

LVL UP! LVL UP! LVL 210.

Notice: Rim is level 165.

(2 Demon Gate Dungeons in 4 days, Nice! My progress is really good. Although I'm pushing the limits of my body, I don't seem to feel tired even If I grind the whole day. Although I feel relaxed when doing nothing, It does seem that I can perform normally as long as my Hp and Mp are not drained much.)

"I hope the next dungeon is this easy as well."

***

While Seth was busy grinding, he didn't know that Aries and the others are almost done with their preparations for the organization's will toward the continent of Aysias.
