Chapter 3 - don't stop living until you cease to breathe

Ara pick up her phone from the kitchen slab, she felt exhausted, the kind of exhaustion that has to do with the mind, she wished she was the one dying instead, he was just too young to die she wondered why life was just so unfair to her, first it was her parents who both died in a plane crash and then her ex husband who was sleeping with his secretary and now the only person she had left was leaving her behind too, the pain which she thought she had come to terms with seemed to be ten times worse she wondered if she could survive it, she heaved a sigh and then sent a message to her ex husband it was a photo of Jason's test result 'he has a right to know' she told herself, she had thought after their divorce she would never have a reason to contact him and to think that he didn't even make an attempt to know how his son was fairing, Ara had long considered him dead to them, but now here she was trying to inform him about their son's health condition she secretly wished she had given them an opportunity to bond, she felt horrible like she was a bad mother to her son for not giving him the opportunity to know what it felt like to have his dad around but now she wanted to give him the opportunity to spend time with his father and make it right after all isn't it said that it is better late than never?

"I want to keep living my life normally Ms Joni is that also impossible?" Jason asked and Joni gave him a thoughtful look and then sighed "I don't read minds Jason you will have to tell me what this is about or I will just keep guessing numerous reasons why you would say that" "sometimes I just feel like shutting down and not doing anything not because I am weak or too stressed out but because I feel it's useless at this point when I know that I'd probably not be alive in the next eight months, now that isn't enough time for someone who has big dreams to accomplish them..." "Jason, look at me son and pay attention, there is no such thing as not enough time" miss Joni cut him with a firm look on her face"do you know that people make history in just an hour, some by accidents even. you are a talented young man who has a limited time but it is more than enough for you to show the world how special you are, don't you ever try to stop living your life until you cease to breathe. you must get up each day with a determination to achieve your dreams before you leave and I tell you, you wouldn't even know when it will happen"

Jason looked at her and gave her a smile and said "I guess I'm getting out of my shell after all" "yes honey, you are, I didn't come all the way and gave a pep talk for nothing" "yeah you're right" Jason laughed.
