Araceli ran to Jason with a glass of water when she heard him coughing "I'm fine" he said even though this was the umpteenth time he had coughed, ignoring his protest she brought the glass to his lips and watched him take a sip before pulling back to lean on the bed again, her eyes began to turn Misty but she pushed back the tears with a firm resolve, she couldn't let him see her breakdown like this, she was supposed to be his strength and so she must be strong for him. but her heart breaks into a thousand pieces each time she remembers the one person she lives for is dying, who would have thought that the once jolly and vibrant teenager was going to be brought down so easily by cancer, she spares one more look at him but she couldn't hold back the tears any more so she walked out into the bathroom and made sure to lock the door and then turned on the shower, she dropped to the ground as she let the stream of tears flow down her eyes while she sobs softly, she remembers just like yesterday the day Keith, her family doctor dropped the bombshell on her that her child had luekemia, 'what is it Keith' she had rushed into his office breathless after seeing the mail he sent her saying he needed to see her, Keith was her childhood friend they lived in the same neighborhood in Detroit before her family moved to LA after several years passed she got married to Robert and had a son and later got divorced she then decided to move back to Detroit, Keith has been the closest thing to family to her and Jason her son, so he never went through all the protocols when dealing with her, he sometimes just drops a text or stop by at the house because he knew how busy she was managing her family's hotel business and taking care of her son. so seeing a mail from him saying he needed to see her, she knew something was not right added to the fact that her son had been so sick lately and his test results were not out yet.keith looked at her not knowing how to relay the devastating news to her "Ara...i" Keith stopped and after a while he pulled her in for a hug not letting her go he said "Jason's test results are out ...you need to be strong Ara... atleast for him for as long as he lives" "what's going on Keith?" Araceli asked him as she wiggled off from his hold and looked straight into his eyes "what's wrong with my son" and Keith after hesitating a little gave her the test results and Ara quickly studied the test result but was still in denial she looked at Keith begging with her eyes for him to tell her she read wrong but instead he hugged her again then it dawned on her that it was true her son had leukemia and had less than a year to live.
