*Knock knock*
" Mel, dinner time."
The snow-white wolf, Hector informs as he gently knocks on the door. Amon remembering that his disguise was half washed away from the rain, immediately panics, leaning backward from the window sill, he was perched on. The moment Amon felt himself falling backward, both his hand grabbed Little One, shoving him into Philomel's arms. Completely forgetting he could have stopped his descent by just grabbing the edge of the window sill. Amon fell on his back, and his long legs came following after, curving above him and making him roll back from the weight. Before he knew it, he winches in pain as his head hits the side of the mattress and the middle part of his back hits the wooden bed frame.
*Thump* *Creak* *Groans*
Where all the sounds Hector heard from behind the door as the bed scraps along the floor from Amon's impact. Philomel stared wide eyes at Amon who was sprawled out, groaning as he rubs the back of his head.
" Mel?! What was that??? Are you okay!!"
Hector yelled through the door. Little One watching Amon did a backward roll, squealing in delight as he babbled and leaned toward Amon in Philomel's arms demanding Amon to do it again. Amon's eyes snaps up at Philomel in shock, as soon as their eyes met, they rushed to take action, and Amon immediately started taking off his shirt.
" I'm fine! I swear to you I'm fine but please don't be mad at me."
Philomel replies as she quickly shuts the window, locking it back into place.
" You open the window didn't you?"
He questions as Philomel lays Little One on the bed, rushing to the table, grabbing Amon's white shirt, a towel, and a pouch of clay. She throw all the items at Amon as she rushed to the door, pressing herself against it with her hand on the doorknob. Completely unsure what to do if Hector starts ramming himself against the door like last time.
" Yes, I did. I'm really sorry! Even though you told me not to."
She apologized through the door hoping that talking would buy them more time.
" You heard Amon's voice, didn't you? Did he say the safe word? When you open the window did any shadow creatures jump in along? Are Amon and Little One okay?"
Hector carefully question through the door, wanting to know exactly what he was up against if he was going to charge in, blazing and raring to go. Amon quickly stood up, looking all white, Philomel seeing this opens the door immediately letting Hector see that they are all, alright.
" We are okay, no shadow creatures came in. We'll join you for dinner shortly, Amon and the baby got caught up in the rain and are soaking wet. "
Philomel explains with a smile as she leans against the open door. Hector was slightly baffled by the door suddenly opening and a full explanation.
" Uh... Okay... take all the time you need, we'll wait for you."
Hector slowly said as he scratches his neck.
" Thank you! We won't be long."
Philomel chimed as her simile changed from one showing her teeth to one that was just the curve of his lips. Hector nods in reply as he turns, moving away from the door and Philomel gently closes the door. Philomel sighs as she leans her back against the door.
" You okay, Among? That was quite a tumble."
She ask, slightly concerned as she gazed at Amon. As soon as the doors closed, Amon immediately hunched, winching as he rubs the top and middle parts of his back.
" If it didn't hurt so freaking much I would be ecstatic. I only wish my first backward roll isn't this painful. "
Amon replies with a groan.
Philomel" That's because you did it wrongly. You're not supposed to bump into stuff and you landed on your back from quite a height. Lay down for a moment the pain would go away soon."
She suggested as she closes the distance between them. Amon taking her advice lays down on the bed, next to Little One. Little One does a forward roll and sits up next to Amon pulling the white shirt, as he continues asking for Amon to do it again. Amon however misinterpreted this.
" Yes, yes. I know Little One. You can roll perfectly unlike me."
Amon wheezes out as he rubs his back against the bed, shifting and stretching as he tries to find the angle to least pain lay at. Philomel takes another towel from the table, putting it on Little One. Little One pulled the towel, laughing and squirming as she dries him.
" You two weren't under the rain for a long time right? You can get sick."
Philomel asks as she looks at Amon.
" Sick? From a miracle like rain? That's preposterous!"
Amon exclaimed as he puff out his chest, clenching his shoulders so that his back would arch.
" If you stay out under the sun for a long time you'll get dizzy and faint from heatstroke, right?"
She asked to reconfirm, as Little One kept making it hard for her to dry him.
" Yes, that's true."
He nods.
" Same thing here, too much rain would chill the body and you can get a fever or the flu."
She explained with a smile as Little One grabs the towel from her and starts rubbing it against the bed, trying to dry the bed. Or in this case, wet the bed.
" What's flu?"
" Type of sickness. Causes your nose to leak, your throat to hurt, and dizziness. I heard it's pretty common around here when it's colder weather. A scavenger caught it once and brought it back to the catacombs. His whole family caught it as well."
" Huh... Does that mean people who live in extremely cold places, always have this flu?"
" Nope, because they live in the cold for a long time, they know what to do and even become more immune to it."
She shook her head.
" You think mermaids get flu as well?"
" Hmm... I don't think so..."
" Man, I wonder what it's like to be underwater."
" You don't have to wonder you can experience it."
" Say what?! I don't have gills or fins."
" You don't need them for a glimpse, just hold your breath and dunk your head underwater. You can even learn how to swim, to move around in the water."
Philomel informed with a smile.
