Brandon didn't care when a two-meter-tall wolf chased him down there. He squealed. Jasper certainly couldn't jump up the tree because it wasn't Lycan. Only its blue eyes flashed between the cracks in the leaves and branches that covered Brandon's sight now.
The man jumped up dexterously. Split the forest and headed in one direction where the distinctive scent of the Black Witcher was successfully lived by him. He smiled as loudly as he could. In a while, he would take Clara back into his arms.
"Who are you?"
A sudden blow was felt from within Brandon and made the man slump instantly. The body of the woman he was holding almost let go, before finally Brandon came to his senses and rushed to hug Clara until his body fell to the ground. The man groaned softly, feeling his spine that was probably cracked by the impact just now. While on the other side, a black wolf stopped a stride and squinted at him.
Brandon stared at the wolf for a moment, then his attention turned to the woman in his arms. Clara squeezed her robe and made the two face to face each other. The woman frowned faintly. However, the focus of the two unraveled as Jasper wailed hard.
Brandon chimed in a rough squeak. He tried to get up with Clara's body still in his arms. "You think, I'm going to give up?" he said to Jasper who was seen tossing its black feathers. "You're wrong, Jasper."
A red lightning flashed from behind Jasper and made the wolf jump to dodge. Eden appeared directly in front of Brandon. He turned his head.
"What's the matter?" asked him.
Brandon shook his head. "Something hit me," he said.
"Keep up with the scent. You will come to the portal to my residence," the black-haired man ordered.
Brandon nodded, then continued his journey by running.
On the way, he looked back at Clara who had been looking at him since just now with an inexplicable look on her face. Either the woman felt strange about Brandon's appearance just now, or because of something the man didn't understand. Brandon only focused on the steps and scents he smelled. It got thicker and more and led him to a transparent portal guarded by several Black Witchers. A long voice sounded, this time Brandon guessed that it was not Jasper's.
"Miss Anne coded us," said one Black Witcher whose face was covered in a hood.
"Hurry up and get in or we'll be late!" quipped another.
Brandon hurried to enter the portal. The impact was again felt when he came out and landed in the backyard of a mansion. His breathing was gasped. The pounding of his heart rushed instantly. A Black Witcher resuscitated him and led him into the huge residence.
Brandon lay down Clara on a bed in one of the rooms. A woman dressed in black and white came over and asked him to go out for a while. Brandon looked at Clara who still looked dazed, then nodded. He walked out of the room a few seconds later.
Suddenly, the man remembered the blow from within him when Clara opened her eyes on the way just now. His forehead wrinkled, thinking of something that made his brain raging. He unveiled the hood, then leaned against the wall and let out a long breath. Tonight is a long night for him. The other side was satisfied with successfully snatching Clara back from the Werewolf man named Jasper.
"Jasper … Owen …."
Brandon certainly remembers the name since Eden gave him directions before they entered the immortal world. Eden even told him that Clara was pregnant right now and made Brandon angry when he found out that Clara was pregnant with the Werewolf. However, Brandon was happy when Clara lost the baby. Remembering his purpose here was only to bring Clara back, but not to what she did in this world.
The Black Witcher had already devised a plan before Brandon joined them. Clara is the reincarnation of Elana—Eden's sister—and of course Eden knows it because the knowledge he learned over the course of the years allows him to recognize traces of energy from the past carried over in the present. His life, which is Immortal now, is also the only way that he can avenge his past revenge on the Werewolf race in that world. Luckily, Eden finds Brandon who is the husband of his sister's reincarnation. He asks Anne to coddle the man and get him to join the Black Witcher to launch this plan.
"Bran." A woman called the blonde-haired man and made him turn his head.
Brandon lowered his gaze for a moment, beckoning to Annelise. However, he remembered that the woman was in a fight earlier. "You are back?" asked him.
Anne nodded. Her hood had been exposed to reveal her beautifully flowing white hair. "But, Eden was injured," she said.
"What?"
The woman nodded. "The damn werewolf jumped up and injured his arm. Luckily, we arrived on time and managed to get him to escape here quickly," said him.
Brandon let out a long breath, not relieved to know his partner was injured. He fell silent. His eyes stared in the direction of the room door.
"How is she?" asked Anne.
The man shook his head. "Someone checked it out just now and it hasn't been finished yet."
"Althea?"
Brandon's brow furrowed. "Althea?"
"Althea. She was a healer," Anne said, making the man in front of her nod.
A few minutes later, Althea came out. Her eyes widened to find several people coming over, as well as Brandon and Anne. The woman sighed as Brandon looked back at her.
"He's fine," she said. "Just a heavy shock."
Anne breathed a sigh of relief. Not for Brandon, though.
"Isn't she hurt?" the blonde-haired man asked.
Althea looked at the man. "She was not injured at all, except for the trace of surgery on her abdomen, but it can still be cured quickly. She also asked you earlier before I put it to sleep," said her. "I just said that she could ask it after she was completely cured."
Brandon nodded. Anne touched and rubbed his arm, beckoning if everything would be fine. "Am I okay to wait for her—"
"Brandon!" A man called in from the end of the hallway and came over to a few people outside Clara's room. He uncroached the hood, revealing his red eyes. "Eden is looking for you," he said.
The blonde-haired man took a sip of saliva. He stared at Anne for a moment and the woman nodded chimed in.
"Let me take you," said Anne.

Anne led Brandon into a room, not far from Clara's room. A black-haired man was lying on the bed with his left arm bandaged. A red color that may have been blood appeared to seep in the white cloth loop. He turned his head when he heard the sound of the door opening.
"Have you gotten better?" asked Anne, then sat down beside the man. She put a hand on Eden's forehead for a moment.
"I don't have a fever, Anne," Eden said. His voice was hoarse as if his energy was drained after fighting with Jasper just now. His eyes looked at a man who was still standing by Anne. "Sit down and don't be too formal."
Brandon sat down on a chair beside the bed. "Does it hurt?" he asked. From just now he looked at Eden's wound whose blood kept seeping and thought about how the man endured the soreness and pain in it.
Eden looked at the wound for a moment. "I'm fine," he said. "Althea will heal it later."
"What do you want to talk to me?" asked Brandon again.
The heterochromia-eyed man sighed for a moment. "It's about Clara," said him. "I remember that I only told you if Clara was the reincarnation of Elana, my sister. But as it turns out, there is something else I haven't told you."
Brandon frowned. His gaze turned enthusiastic. "What? What is it?"
"It's about the phoenix seal on Clara's neck."
