Ling San's Dream
For each trial, the ghostly emperor didn't set a time limit. It would continue to go on until ten people finished the Illusory Garden Formation's rune.
But with only two people, barring Xue Bai, even having a clue about the rune's creation process, everyone had a feeling that they would be stuck there for a long time.
So as the only person without a rune to make, Xue Bai simply decided to start cultivating. After all, he had nothing better to do.
However, just to be safe, he asked Mirage to guard him. Ling San needed protection, and since most of Xue Bai's attention would be on gathering Spiritual Qi, he wouldn't be the best person for the job.
Mirage was fine with the job and agreed.
