Chapter 60 - CHAPTER 60

Driving the navy-blue Dentley out of the Lotus Palace complex, Diamond was having a headache. A very strong one that would require bottles of pills before it was healed.

[My lady, you don't look okay. How about I take over while you rest?] Andrea suddenly suggested upon seeing Diamond's complexion.

Diamond glared at the cat on the screen and inwardly chided the other, 'If it weren't for you, would I be in this situation that I am in right now?'

Just thinking about how Andrea had roasted her about her poor social skills and how she should start reading books and getting lessons. Diamond felt like fainting throughout the conversation.

However, as much angry as she was about that, she also understood that Andrea was doing everything for her benefit. And that she shouldn't hate him. After all, where else would she get someone willing to be brutally honest with her?

"Fine, take over. I will sort out my thoughts on the way."

Since there was no need to fuss over things and make things difficult for herself whilst there was an A. I who was willing to do the job for her.

[Automatic control initiated!]

Diamond watched for the first time as Andrea took over the wheel. Although she knew about self-driving cars, that was her first time being a passenger in one, despite her car having the same function.

The drive to the hotel where Kian was staying would take an hour or so. Instead of letting him come and pick her up, Diamond wanted to take the initiative to bring the other.

At the same time, she didn't want Kian to know where she was staying in the meantime. It was still too early, and she wanted to study the man, if anything was ever going to happen in the future.

If it was going to be a fling, then there was no need for the other to know her place. Hotels were the best places to go, after all.

Instead of just relaxing and enjoying the cool ride with Andrea, Diamond was checking herself through the mirror.

For that epic date, she had really outdone herself. Apart from when she attended the birthday banquet with Cecilia, she had never dressed like that again.

At the same time, at **** hotel, Kian was standing in front of his brother, who was adjusting his blazer neatly and making sure that everything was in order before he left.

"Aren't you done yet?" Kian asked Sullivan teasingly, who had been at that for some time now.

Sullivan flashed a smile at Kian as he responded, "We need to make sure that you look amazing and wow everyone. Impressions should be good. Otherwise, how are you going to bring the lady home?"

Hearing such a comment; Kian knew that Sullivan was up to no good, but he loved it anyway.

Patting Sullivan's shoulder with his right hand, Kian said to him with a reassuring tone, "Don't worry, bro. I have never been serious about other things in life, but this time, I will make sure that I win her over. No matter how long it takes."

Sullivan removed his hands from the blazer lapels and stared Kian in the eyes.

After sorting out his feelings regarding his brother's crush, Sullivan no longer hides it. It was useless and since just like Kian; it was his first time to have such strong feelings towards a girl he never met in person. He wanted to give a good impression.

And since the two of them shared the same face. The better Diamond looks upon Kian, the better it is for him, too.

And as the two were busy looking at each other, and silently communicating as they always did from a young age, Kian's phone started ringing.

Hearing the unique ringtone Kian specifically set for her, a smile appeared on his face.

Sullivan watched as his serious brother suddenly turned into a love-struck fool and his heart was filled with so much jealousy.

'How I wished I was the first that met her? It would have been me, I guess.'

But there were no ifs in life. Maybe it was destined to be. And he would just wait and see where that would take them.

Nevertheless, he sincerely hoped and prayed that Diamond would take a liking to Kian, for only then could he also make a move at her. And also hope that she won't kick them out of her life for even thinking about sharing her.

Not everyone was truly comfortable with that topic. Most people, especially, found it degrading and insulting. He didn't want her to look at them as if they were perverts.

"My lady!" like a proper gentleman, Kian, who wasn't seeing Diamond, called out his favorite endearment the second he picked.

Sullivan watched as Kian kept a smile on his face as he talked to the woman, he wished he could talk to and have a face-to-face and get to know each other.

After talking on the phone for less than a minute, Kian turned to face Sullivan and said, "She is here. I will go down. You better take care of yourself and keep Charlie in place."

Sullivan nodded his head in agreement, though his heart ached fully knowing how much enjoyment Kian would be experiencing that night.

"Go and have fun. And don't let anyone take advantage of her!" Sullivan reminded as he recalled some bad stuff Kian told him about regarding Diamond's days at school.

Looking at Sullivan, Kian's smile suddenly turned creepy and sly as a glint of ruthlessness appeared in his eyes.

"Don't worry. Heh, when have I ever been a pushover?" Kian chuckled.

Seeing that side of his brother again, Sullivan finally was at ease. "Umm, that's good then," he said as he patted his shoulder. "You better go now. It's rude to keep a lady waiting."

Kian glanced at his brother one last time, before leaving the room with swift steps and without turning back.
