Diamond lifted her head as her hands dropped to her knees. She had long changed her sitting posture, both her knees stuck together like a primary student who is getting reproach from the homeroom teacher.
She looked at Sullivan, helplessness and disbelief written all over her face, and asked, "You…. What did I do to you to insult me like this on such a day? When have I wronged you?" her voice cracking as if she was about to cry, especially with how red those eyes had become.
Feeling a bit disturbed by her vulnerability and yet the inner demon in him whispering and urging him to attack, Sullivan steered his heart and responded, "Tell me something, Diamond. Have you ever loved me, genuinely?"
Diamond hesitated to answer that question and Sullivan scoffed, a glint of viciousness flashing in his eyes.
"If you didn't see Kian, would you even be interested in me?"
'I wouldn't have bothered!' however, this wasn't said out loud.
