CHAPTER ONE- PROLOGUE
On a silent beach, a dark haired skinny teenager sat quietly staring at the calm waves on the surface of the water. He felt the sea had a good contrast with him as his entire inner being was in turmoil. Once again, he looked at the notification at the corner of his eye
[MISSION: Eat something]
REWARDS: S-Class Talent
[PENALTY: Death ]
He sighed softly. After he had ignored this parasite for many years, it had finally managed to trap him. His name was John and he had really lived a miserable life. He was born into an affluent and loving family with lots of assets. At the beginning his life couldn't have been better. His parents had really doted on him and he could have almost everything he wished for. But all that changed when he turned twelve. His parents died in a vehicle accident but he mysteriously survived. Also his older brother ran off with the family's assets leaving him nothing so he became a homeless pauper and had to live like a dreg. Two years later when he was at his lowest, he miraculously received a system by picking up a random stone from the floor. Was this because of his good luck?
Bullshit!
Perhaps others would have been pleased with this sort of occurrence but not him. If there was one thing unique about him then it would not have been luck but rather the fact that he was always conscious of his surroundings ever since birth. He had always paid a little extra attention to everything and right from the beginning he had always known there was something wrong. Call it a gut feeling or something but that was something innate.
Right off the bat, he had seen through the entire plot, the excessive attention his parents had given him that had fueled his brother's jealousy, the continuing series of incidents that had happened for him to get to the lowest point. And then he miraculously receives a system. Perhaps only and idiot would believe that this was fate.
So he ignored it. The so called beginner rewards, he ignored them, the countless missions with bewitching rewards, he ignored them. Then the system began issuing missions with death penalties and he ignored those as well. He never died though, which validated his idea that it wanted something from. This went on for a year until the system begun giving him missions related to his daily life. It begun with something like [ Drink a bottle of water ] which he would avoid by drinking a glass of water instead.
After he had avoided a lot of these, the system suddenly went quiet. It went on for a couple of days and then extended to months making him believe that perhaps the system had gone for good.
But that was until yesterday when the system came back and suddenly issued a new mission
[Eat something ]

[PENALTY: Death ]
Perhaps there was a counter to this, one of those nutrient packs which could directly be injected into the bloodstream but he couldn't afford those. So he was stuck in a dilemma, to eat or to die. To finally accept the system or to die rejecting it. He knew that even if he found a way to avoid this one, more would come.
Deep inside him, John had already made a decision.
Staring at the waves he wondered what a peaceful life would be like, perhaps he would find out in his next life, or not.
Was there really a reincarnation?
Would people be reincarnated when they died?
Slowly, he stood up and thought to himself while walking into the sea. "I will find out soon enough"
As he drowned, John had a peaceful smile on his face, and all this while, he still ignored the blazing red notifications popping up,
