Yes! I was back home and of course, I was shocked. Everything seemed normal but the blood trail on the floor with foot patches on it that led towards the door. The door that led to a banned study room in the castle.
As I grew, I realized that anytime I moved close to the room, I would either get scolded or grounded by my parents. Then there was a particular time when I was thirteen, I snuck back to the room during the late hours of the night. The room was, of course, a large and vast study room with huge tall shelves that didn't even have a missing space in it. They were filled up with variety of books . As a little girl, I was awed. That was actually the first time I had seen a study room that big. My eyes caught a door behind one of the shelves through a peep hike on the shelf when I explored the books on each shelves. Though the ones my hands could get to. What was the door doing there? what did it lead to? could it be another study room which was way much more larger and bigger and thrilling than this one?. Those were the exact questions that floated in my head as of then.
Right now, the question was why was I back home and standing right before this very door my parents had forbade me from entering?
The blood patches on the floor, and what do they mean?.
My eyes moved and followed it trail until they landed on the door which was slightly opened. The door was not locked!
Hesitantly, l moved my legs towards the door , finally when I became closer and reached for the knobs. Through out this whole process, my heart was thumping loudly in my chest because I could not phantom what was happening.
Was this some sort of magic? that I didn't know. All I needed to to right now was check all possible chances on escaping. Maybe this was it actually but I was yet to figure it out. There might be a possibility that my magic was finally working it's way out of whatever it was bonded in.
I opened the door and a gasp escaped my lips. Just as I opened the door, a very bright light shone and my eyes were hurt by this reflex action. Quickly, I raised my elbow to protect my eyes from the bright light. It took a while before my eyes could adjust to the light. I dropped my elbow and I saw her there. My mother. She was source of the bright light and she was smiling at me, so warmly. She was staring right at me.
I was surprised. I had not seen her for....since we were attacked.
My eyes clouded and sooner, tears began to trickle down my cheeks.
I want to meet her, I want to hug her. I want to feel her motherly embrace again. Just one more time.
Abruptly, I took few steps when I realized I could not anymore. I looked down at my stuck feet. I made an attempt to move again, I could not.
I glanced back up at her and saw that she was the one hindering me from moving any further.
Her smile had disappeared and she had a pale face and a sour look.
"Mother! "I screamed out loud to her cause the distance between us was pretty much of a distance. '' let me come to you, please ''. I pleaded with my tears flowing freely from my eyes.
She didn't say a word but I saw a small light emit from her body and flew towards mine. I watched what was happening till the light entered my chest. I gasped before a strong wind blew on me sending me into darkness.
'' Mother!''. I shouted and my eyes shot open.
I was panting heavily, trying to accumulate all what I saw into my tiny brain.
Just then I heard, '' Master, she's awake ''. I heard a feminine voice say by my left and I saw a lady there. My brows creased, I was trying to figure things out.
'' Out ''. A deep masculine voice that rang danger to my ears echoed from the other end of the room. I turned my head and saw a tall manly figure standing right before the window staring out at the morning sky with his hands folded behind his back.
His voice; seemed rather familiar and I was.....
The Lady curtsied before heading out of the room I just recently found out I was kept in.
I glanced round me, I was actually in a room. My mind got filled up as I remembered what happened with the vampires and the Nox.
I sighed out of relief. At least, I had to be thankful that I wasn't killed by that ferocious beast. If I were, my remains would have being laying in the grounds in my dried blood. My delicate skin, shredded into pieces and my bones....
Wait... it's not like I won't still be killed.
I moved my hands....they were locked in chains by both sides of the bed I was laid on.
My legs.... they were too. I struggled to free myself when I heard him again.
I sincerely thought he left.
'' Give up struggling, dear queen ''. his voice said and I looked in his direction and I immediately darkened my gaze.
It was certainly him; the ruler of the vampires. I recognized his face. He was the one who made me black out last night.
'' You...''. I gritted my teeth as I spoke, still wriggling. '' get me out of here this minute ''. I spoke in a very didactic tone which was very unusual of me.
'' Seems like you haven't forgotten me? ''. he said darkly as he moved closer to the bed and ached his back a little making his face close up to mine.
My eyes widened and I immediately swallowed my heart back that was finding it's way out of it's cage.
As soon as our eyes met, I almost gaped.
The man before my eyes was just so- too damn good looking. I'd never seen a man look as beautiful as he was. I had encountered several handsome princes in the past and still, no one could still match up to his looks.
Obviously, he was tall. His hazel hair was brought down on his shoulders. He was broad shouldered and his eyes, they were...they had the same colour as the moon. Grey. It looked so bewitching that anyone who looked into them, surely will fall in love with them.
He had a strong, defined and masculine jawline. It was perfection in her eyes. I was utterly impressed beyond measures because I had never been this impressed by a man's beauty like this before. How could a mortal man look this stunning?
What was she saying? He was no mortal. He was a royal blooded vampire, and that meant longer life span. Each and every vampire had long lives but for the royalties which had longer life span. Now, I understood why he was this good looking. It was all because he's a VAMPIRE. Their king.
My mother always told me how some vampires lure women with their beauty, lay with them before slaying them. It was one of their strategies on defeating and lowering the numbers of the humans. But some fell in love and had them as their wives. I wondered what it would feel like if I were in love with a vampire.
'' Seems like you're really the one in the prophecy '' he said raising his hands to graze my skin. I blinked coyly as I gazed deeply into his eyes that did not break contact from mine.
My body jolted and I shook his hand off me when I realised I was acting awkwardly.
My eyes fell to my hands and saw my skin was smooth like I had not fallen on the rough grounds, stumbled on a rock, fell on piercing thorns.
I was equally taken aback.
'' I was not so wrong after all. I thought you were some vulnerable weak Queen we got not knowing I gat the right person I've being searching for all this while '' . as he spoke, I could see danger flicker in his eyes.
It seemed to me that it was the light that entered my body from her body that healed all my injuries.
'' Get me out of here now '' I spoke again.
'' get you out, huh? '' . he asked as he stood straight.
I didn't reply.
Then he chuckled more darkly, lowering me in spirits. I was now becoming scared.
Now, it was time to be really scared.
'' I thought you were so agile a while ago, queen '' he said.
I didn't reply either. I was waiting for the right moment to give him his reply even if he scared me.
'' She must have given you the Jade of light that was why you healed this fast '' he said with a smirk up on his lips.
'' wait, what Jade of light ? ''. I asked as my eyes held questions.
He did not say a word again and turned his back before walking away.
'' hey! get back here! you! ''. I wriggled as I screamed at me but he did not even spare me a face.
' peng'. he left.
