Chapter 65 - Bheem Singh war with Muhammad ibn al-Qasim

Seeing Bhim Singh's cavalry from a distance, Muhammad ibn Haroon ordered his army to halt and after forming the ranks for the fight, was about to give the order for the advance when the leader of the right wing of the army, galloped.Saad approached him and he gave a letter in his hand and said, "This writing seems to be that of the general." But the bringer is a Sindhi. We have arrested him. He also knows Arabic and says that Zubair knows me. Saying his name sometimes Saad and sometimes Gungo said shocked. "

I know him.

Muhammad ibn Haroon said after reading the letter. There was no need to investigate after seeing the commander's position. If you have wronged him, go and apologize, and tell your riders to meet me.

Zubair! All the hills on our right and left are occupied by the enemy's archers. Archers are on these hills, we cannot go forward. Bheem Singh's trick was very successful.

If Muhammad ibn Haroon attacked immediately from the front, his army would be spread out in the hills on both flanks. Archers would have proved very dangerous for the Muslim army. But when, contrary to Bheem Singh's expectation, the infantry of the Salmans from the right and left flanks began to climb the hills, he immediately advanced and ordered an attack. Inside the fort, Muhammad ibn al-Qasim was waiting for this opportunity. He assigned fifty soldiers to guard the fort and ordered the rest of the army to be ready to attack the enemy from the rear. Horsemen and foot soldiers assembled at the gate of the fort. And Muhammad ibn al-Qasim began to see the movement of both armies through the hole of the door.

Khalid Nasiruddin and his companions also got armor and Arabic clothes from the soldiers staying in the fort and mounted on horses. Suddenly, Naheed and Zahra came out of a room armed with nail hooks and stood near the door. Khalid said Naheed Zahra, you have no business outside the fort. Nasiruddin supported him. Muhammad ibn al-Qasim turned and looked at them. And said, I appreciate your spirit of Jihad(war), but you can help us by supporting the soldiers to protect the fort. For the nation, the milk of brave mothers is more valuable than blood. When the critical time comes, they can make the four walls of the houses the last fortress for the falling nation.

A few soldiers will not hesitate to shed their last drop of blood in the defense of the battle you have done here, but the soldiers in the field will be more concerned about your safety than fighting the enemy.,will change and this battle is not one for which we need your help, you rest for a while, maybe you have to wake up at night to bandage the wounded, Khalid! Take them in! After saying that, he again started looking through the hole in the door. When he saw the two forces, Muhammad ibn al-Qasim mounted his horse and ordered to open the door. Khalid left Naheed and Zahra in the room and he had not reached the door when Zahra ran and grabbed his leg

For the sake of God, take me with you, I cannot leave you in this life and death. Khalid replied angrily. Zahra, don't be foolish, you have heard the command of the commander, let me go. The army is coming out of the fort ... ... ... Zahra said in awe.

"For God's sake don't think me a coward, I want to die with you"

"Zahra! Zahra!! Leave me!" Saying this, he shook Zahra's hand, but she stood up again blocking the way.

He went on to say. If you don't want to lose this happiness, why do you want to lose me? Zahra! This is not my order, it is the order of the army chief.

Zahra left Khalid's way and hugged Naheed while crying..

Khalid ran to the door, the soldiers had gone and the door was closed. Khalid asked the guard to open the door, but he replied, "I cannot open the door until the command of the army commander comes from outside." The ground came out from under Khalid's feet. He thought that they had left him behind as a coward. He ran and looked out of the hole in the door. Khalid peered right into the middle of the enemy's army. The infantry of the fort had attacked the two arms of Bheem Singh's army from the rear and Muhammad ibn al-Qasim along with his horsemen, seeing this attack directly on the heart of the army, clenched his fists and bit his lip, addressing the guards and saying: They must have been waiting for me.

And must have understood that I have been hiding somewhere in the fort for fear of death. Open the door for God's sake, let me go, replied the watchman. You have no doubt that you are a coward. Otherwise, they would have ordered your murder. Oh, they used to say that it would be better for you to stay with the girls. We are not allowed to open the door, so I will jump over the wall. Saying this, Khalid went towards the stairs of Fort. Zahra was standing on the way. He wanted to say something, but seeing Khalid's expression, she was shocked. Khalid gave him an angry look and said. Now you want to be happy?" she said. for give me! I'm a woman . May God save a living nation from women like you. Khalid said this and ran up the stairs and threw the rope and got down from the wall.

Zahra ran away and picked up the sword from the room. Naheed asked where is Zahra?

Zahra replied,

"Naheed!"

Your brother always misunderstood me, if I can't come back, I was not a coward to tell him.

I wish !

Our society teaches a woman to sacrifice herself for some purpose instead of following her husband. Naheed said, Zahra! Wait Zahra! Zahra!! But Zahra entered the room like a wind and came out like a horse. Naheed ran after her but by the time she reached the ladder she had climbed the wall and thrown down the rope ladder.

The soldiers tried to stop him, but he said, "If my way is blocked." So I will jump from the wall. The soldiers looked at each other worriedly and Zahra got off. Naheed reached the wall and shouted.Zahra! Because don't be crazy. Come back but Naheed's pace quickened with every sound. Desperate, Naheed intended to descend himself, but an elderly soldier said, "A woman's zeal is blind. If you pursue her, she will run into the ranks of the enemy."

Desperate, Naheed called a soldier and sat in one of the fronts of the wall. A horse, dropping its rider in the field, was running around. Zahra ran and grabbed his reins and mounted him. Seeing him on the horse, Naheed felt a little relieved and started praying for his safety.

The first attack of Bheem Singh's army on the Muslim army was very strong, and they had to retreat a few paces in a narrow valley, but the infantry occupied the surrounding hills, and when the arrows started raining, the attention of the Sindh army was divided into two parts. I split. On this very occasion, Muhammad ibn al-Qasim opened the gate of the fort and attacked from the rear, and along with a few airmen, disrupted the ranks of the enemy and reached the heart of the army.

Seeing the green flag right in the middle of the army, Muhammad ibn Haroon ordered his army to attack from three sides.

Zubair advanced with five hundred horsemen to the aid of Muhammad ibn al-Qasim and soon joined him.

Bheem Singh's army was disheartened and began to retreat towards the fort. The rising fog in the valley combined with the evening mist had created the signs of the coming night. Bheem Singh tried for the last time to organize the broken ranks of his army. But following the example of Zubair, the rest of Muhammad ibn Haroon's soldiers also joined Muhammad ibn al-Qasim while clearing the field. Bheem Singh's army became disorganized and started fighting in different groups. Due to the pressure of the Muslims, several groups retreated and reached near the fort and when the guards of the fort started shooting arrows at them, they ran away in confusion. Descended from a mound with a party and, raising the slogan Takbeer, fell upon a group of the enemy. The distraught soldiers moved aside and Khalid separated from his comrades in pursuit.

Enemy soldiers took the opportunity to surround him from all sides. Suddenly, a horseman came running and attacked the group saying Allahu Akbar. Khalid was shocked to recognize her voice, it was Zahra. Zahra's sword flashed through the heads of two soldiers one after the other and both of them fell down and returned to dust.

A soldier stepped forward and stabbed Zahra. Zahra's horse suddenly bucked and the sword caught on its foreleg, the horse took a few leaps and staggered and fell. Seeing the Muslim troops approaching, Bheem Singh's soldiers vacated this part of the field as well. Khalid ran to Zahra. She was lying face down near the horse. Coming closer, his hands and feet swelled. Sighs and prayers came out of his mouth at the same time.

He stopped, hesitated, shivered and then ran to pick up Zahra. He saw blood marks on Zahra's back and two arrows stuck in her armour, and all the senses of life collapsed in his eyes. Zahra opened her eyes and sat up. Khalid saw her red face in the light of the moon and said, "You are not hurt?"

A triumphant smile played on his lips.

She said "No!" I did not even feel these arrows. I was dizzy after falling off the horse. I'm perfectly fine. What is the condition of the field?

The field has been empty. God has given us victory but where is Naheed?

Shee is in the castle.

I want to ask you one thing.

" What ?"

"Aren't you afraid of me?"

Ah, Zahra! Don't make me sorry, I am very sorry for my harsh words.
