King (Raja) Sarandeep was resplendent on the throne.
Below the throne, a few chieftains were sitting on the chairs according to their rank.
The first chair on the right hand side of the King(Raja) belonged to Prince Oudhe Ram.
Prince was a handsome young man.
A few officials were standing in two rows behind the chairs with folded hands.
Chobdar entered the court and after performing the formalities said,
Your Majesty!
Dilip Singh seeks leave to appear.
King(Raja) got worried and said.
Dilip Singh has arrived!
Where are Abul Hasan and his companions?
Chobdar replied,
Your Majesty!
One of them is an Arab youth with him.
And he also wants to be at your service.
The King (Raja) said indecisively,
Call them quickly.
A little while after the Chobdar had gone back, Dilip Singh entered with a twenty-two years old Arab youth.
Dilip Singh had a silver plate in his hands.
In which there was a gold box and a dagger.
In the handle of the dagger, jewels of precious diamonds were shining.
Dilip Singh bowed three times at different points between the door and the throne.
Then, He went forward and after placing the bowl before the King (Raja) stood with folded hands, but meanwhile the eyes of the King(Raja), the Crown Prince and the rest of the court were mostly fixed on his young companion.
This period to which our story relates was the golden age of the history of the desert dwellers of Arabia.
In front of the flood waves of Islamic conquests many years ago, the walls of the strongest forts of the house had been hollowed out and now a mighty army was going to demolish them.Their horses galloped across the plains of Turkistan, Armenia and North Africa. A flood of victories had reached Makran in the east.
This was the time when the inhabitants of the neighboring countries had become accustomed to seeing the fortune of Alexander, the prosperity of Aristotle, and the glory of Sulman(R.A) on the face of every Arab.
A backward nation on the face of the earth was enriched with the wealth of Islam and had attained a height in the eyes of the world which no nation has been blessed with till date.
In the court of the King (Raja) of Ceylon (Sarandeep) stood the young man whose ancestors had destroyed the greatness of the two greatest empires of the East and the West in the wars of Yarmouk and Qudsia,he was one of those youths, who after seeing Casey does not feel the need to research his biography.
The king and his courtiers had recognized thousands of qualities of his appearance and character at a glance.
He stepped forward carelessly and the eyes of the onlookers began to see a supreme self-confidence in every movement of his body.
His lips twitched and all the audience went into a frenzy. some time,
"Greeting"
His words rang in the ears of the king and the courtiers.
Prince,
"Greeting"
He said and got up smiling.
And all the chiefs got up and stood up.
The prince extended his hand to shake hands and all the chieftains, disregarding the etiquette of the court, proceeded to shake hands with him in turn.
The prince made him sit near him and started talking to him in broken Arabic,
asked the prince.
Your name ?
The young man replied,
"Zubair"
Where are you from?
"From Basra"
Abul Hasan and his companions found out?
Zubair replied,
No!
I am afraid they have met with an accident on the way.
The prince's face became sad.
The king could not decide whether he should be happy or angry at what the prince said. Instead of the throne,
The audience was looking at the two chairs on which the prince and the Arab youth were resplendent. It was a new thing, but the joy of hearing the broken words of Arabic from the mouth of his only son was overcoming this bitterness.
Finally he said,
We are very happy to see you.
Zubair replied!
Thanks!
The King (Raja) of Sarandeep is called greetings by our Caliph and Governor of Iraq?
This phrase was performed in half Arabic and Sarandeep language.
Seeing the smile of the king and the crown prince, all the courtiers laughed.
King(Raja) asked.
Where did you learn our language?
Zubair replied pointing at Dilip Singh.
These are my teachers.
The King(Raja) and the courtiers considered Dilip Singh worthy of attention for the first time.
King(Raja) said.
"Yes, Dilip! Nothing was found about Abul Hasan?"
Dilip Singh replied.
Your Majesty!
This year, no ship of our country reached any Arab port.
In Basra, Makkah, Madinah and Damascus, relatives of some of them were present everywhere, but all of them said that they did not make it to Hajj.
On my return, I have been tracing them from every port, but it turns out that their ship has met with an accident near the coast of Sindh. The gifts that His Majesty had sent to the King of Damascus and the ruler of Iraq did not reach him, yet he used to thank him.
I have brought this alliance to your service on their behalf.
There is a diamond in this gold box.
It is sent by the king of Damascus and the dagger by the ruler of Iraq.
I have also brought eight horses of Arabian breed.
Four are white given by the king and four are musky which have been sent by the ruler of Iraq.
He has been taken to the royal stables.
The King (Raja) bent down and picked up the box and after opening it and looking at the shining diamond for a while raised his dagger to praise the troop.
After that, he extended the two gifts to Prince and said,Look,
Prince! This gift belongs to the king whose iron cuts through every iron, whose kingdom has many rivers, many mountains and many seas, whose soldiers consider stone forts to be mud houses and cross rivers on horses and This dagger has been sent to me by the ruler of Iraq, at whose name great kings tremble.
Prince had other ideas.
He looked at these two things indifferently and placed them in the minister's hands. These gifts which the simple hearted king of Sarandeep considered more precious than all the treasures of the earth. After passing through the hands of all the courtiers one after the other, they reached the King(Raja). He also felt the handle of the dagger and sometimes opened the box and looked. Finally he looked at Zubair and said,
My soul wants to see your king with my own eyes.
Zubair said.
"We have no king"
King(Raja) smiled and said,
This Abul Hasan also used to say that Muslims do not make anyone king.
Ahh!!!
What a good man, the poor man was. Sharpness of the sword.
How shocked his girl would be and how kind Abdul Rahman and Yusuf were. God knows what will be the condition of their children after hearing this news, have you met them?
No Please!
I came straight to you.
Zubair took out a letter from his pocket and presented it to King(Raja).
This letter was given to me by the ruler of Basra.
King(Raja) pointed to Dilip Singh.
Dilip Singh took the letter from Zubair and opened it and began to recite the translation.
The governor of Basra greetings to King. He is grateful for the kind treatment of widows and orphans of Arab merchants.
Arrange for the children to be brought to Basra, they are sending a ship to Zubair, one of their army chiefs, with your envoy and hope you will arrange their departure very soon.
The governor of Basra believed that Abul Hasan and his companions had met with an accident on the west coast of India.
After hearing the content of this letter, King (Raja) bowed his neck and kept thinking for a long time.
Governor of Basra believes that Abul Hasan and his companions meet with an accident on the west coast of India, that it is found that their ship is sunk by a local bandit, which is not the kind of punishment to be punished. After hearing the content of this letter, King (Raja) bowed his neck and did not think about anything for a long time.
Zubair looked at Prince.
He is looking at the flooded roof.
Zubair said,
"You are very worried. It seems that you had a great affection for the Arabs."
The prince's pursed lips quivered.
He tried unsuccessfully to hold back the tears, then he stand up from his seat and went into the back room without a word.
The King(Raja) himself had a hearty attachment to Abul Hasan.
The news of his death was no less tragic for him, but the sense of the presence of the emissary of the Caliph of the Muslims compelled him to act with extreme discipline. After the Prince got up, he ordered all the courtiers to leave except Zubair and Dilip Singh.
Said to Zubair, Prince was very fond of Abul Hasan. I also considered him as my brother.
I am very sorry for his death but how can it be said that he and his companions are dead, they may have been captured by bandits on the way.
I am most afraid of poor Naheed.
She has not forgotten her mother's grief.
Now this shock will be unbearable for her. Zubair asked,
"Who is this Naheed?"
King(Raja) replied.
She is the only daughter of Abul Hasan.
I also consider her as my own daughter.
She is a very good girl.
After that King (Raja) turned towards Dilip Singh.
Dilip! ?
Take them to the guest room!
Taking care that they do not suffer, I send the princess to comfort these children.
Zubair said,
I came straight to you.
Haven't seen these kids yet,
"Very good"
Dilip Singh!
Take them to them!
