Chapter 14 - Monkey clan (1)

After one month of continuous fighting, the raining season hit.

The fights become more difficult without their honed vibration sense.

Furthermore the enemies that they have being fighting lately have increased and also lost most of their variety now they fling rocks and sticks from the trees.

As the nights passed so did the tree enemies increased and are starting to do weird war cries, and through the rain multiple pairs of glowing golden orbs can be seen.

After the war cry the battle prowess of the adversaries increased significantly, with the rocks being able to break of the males rock armor and cause injuries in their soft parts, as well as their sticks can now move and grab legs and rooting to the ground making them immobile for a second, but with the quantity that they are thrown they support it's other rendering them harder to deal with.

But even those became inconsequential, for the sticks were dealt with fire armor and metal legs and afterwards dodging the rocks through normal movement.

Considering their circumstances they decided to forgo a night and not hunt like typical, opting for the normal way of track prey.

Surprisingly the multiple tree climbing enemies didn't show up this night, or the coming nights that they employed the same tactics, so they figured they were annoying some overlord.

Thus they continued deeper in the forest and after mid day traversing and night of skulking, two more months passed and the raining finally stopped.

Though the centipedes now were in a different predicament.

They were surrounded by yellow monkeys with spears. The monkeys were leading them towards a densely packed tree area with wood structures going from one tree to another and stone constructs as shelters with many monkey looking at our two massive friends.

As they walked along side the armed monkeys they got their first whiff of culture in their lives and it was a shock.

Some monkeys stood behind wooden boxes with things on top, like fruit and small trinkets such as hair ornaments to children toys, other monkeys would come, interested in their items and if agreed among themselves they would exchange them with wooden discs decorated with artistic representation of a crowned monkey made of rock.

Some other monkeys had stores that sold a variety of things, from clothes to weapons and armor to pottery, even had bars that sold alcohol.

The settlement seemed prosperous and the monkeys were carefree as if they didn't have a reason to be on edge so they can survive.

At the center of the monkey settlement there is a more luxurious tree house, as much as tree houses can get.

It has a surrounding balcony on which a huge monkey with glossy fur and a crown like the coin.

It said "Welcome, to the Golden Macaque Clan!".
