The room was still, Ethan was facing Crystal's confused face as she went through the 'Book of Astra'. all this information should've been studied for months if not years, but only five pages were visible, if you wanted to go through other pages you simply wouldn't see anything, just blank papers.
"Why would you make a book this heavy just to put five pages there is my only question" Crystal spoke. she kept closing and opening the book repeatedly as if the missing writings would suddenly appear.
"If you read page one you would know that we will be learning everything throughout the year" Claire replied, her tone was sharp, she loved studying mysterious materials, understanding everything, and having the most information in the group.
"So we have to start getting the 'elemental gems' but where do we find them?" Ethan asked, confused.
"Are we doing this? this doesn't even sound like a real thing, what do you mean levitate?" Crystal's skepticism was filling the room.
"We are on their grounds and they let us stay, also we have to get more information about the soul linking/gems. so yes I'm willing to try at least. Crystal." Ethan's reply was loud, his emotions got the better of him, or so he thought when he started thinking about what he had just said.
Crystal's thoughts went away as she focused on Ethan's tone, she knew what Ethan was aiming for but it still hurt her.
"Sorry. that was rude" Ethan sighed.
"That's okay, let's get it over with." Crystal replied.
as the group was reading through the pages of this mysterious book, a loud knock turned their minds to the wooden door, causing tension.
Ethan's heart sunk, he wanted to see Nico one more time, the feeling was confusing but something in his heart wanted to see those beautiful curves, silver hair, and dove sharp eyes.
Ethan's hands were shaking as he rolled down the knob. his eyes sparkled, it was him, that confusing beautiful body standing behind the door, with a blank face.
"Yes, how may I help you, Nico?" Ethan started the conversation right away.
"You remember my name, that's very thoughtful," Nico replied sharply.
Ethan's heart started pounding, his ribcage got tight and his breath shortened, and his palms could hardly stay together, shaken.
"Here are the Elemental stones, also known as Elemental gems, these are the three elements you might get, if you don't you should notify us, that means you do not possess any channeling" Nico's reply scared Ethan.
"What happens if we don't have the channeling? will we be returned home or get tested again?" Ethan wanted to know more.
"That is correct, yes," Nico replied.
"Perfect, Thank you." Replied Ethan, he wasn't as intimidated anymore, he was scared for himself and his friends.
The Elemental Stones were light as a feather, they looked like rocks with different colors, red representing fire, white representing air, and lastly blue, representing ice.
"Here they are" Ethan shouted, happily.
"Okey who's gonna go first?" said Claire.
"I can go first" Crystal replied swiftly as if she wanted to get it over with.
The candles were lit, the timing was just perfect, the room was quiet, waiting for something to shine, magic to sparkle. three stones were displayed in front of Crystal, as she started crushing the stones.
all three of the stones were in crumbles, the beauty of its radiant sharp light was lost, but you could still see the representing element.
Crystal's hands were shaking, she was still in disbelief as to why she was doing this at all, but deep down she was doing this for Ethan and Aiden.
She waved her hands on the stones, Ice element stone bit her like a snake, and blood from her pinky finger started dripping on the ground.
She was getting tenser as her hands got close to the Air element stone, her palms were sweaty.
Nothing. not a single cut on her fingers, left hand only had one cut, from the first stone, nothing else.
Crystal's eyes widened as she picked up the Air element stone, without hesitation she started chanting. " 'I Evig ym ydob ot artsa, ekma em a relennach' "
The stone left her hands as it started floating in front of her, there was a whisp, one of the pieces from the air stone let out a white ribbon-looking line, and it was shining the entire room.
As Crystal got closer to the stone the link made an impact on her chest, it looked like the element was going through her body, her eyes turning plane white for a second.
"I think you did it Crystal" Ethan broke the silence. "YOU DID IT."
"Guys my body feels weird, it's like a gush of wind just running through me" Crystal's excitement was turning the room around.
Claire's thoughts were clouding her judgment. she was astonished but also jealous.
