A week has passed since they started working together for the assignment. Butan took 2 days to do everything and spent the rest of the week pretty much playing games on his computer. And that was exactly what he was doing right now, lights flashed on his bored face from the computer screen.
He didn't look to be having much fun playing, only doing it to pass time.
*Buzz*
He felt his phone vibrating as he paused the game and looked at it to check, and it was as he expected, a message from the shark girl. He sighed, it was just the usual worried message about tomorrow since today was the last day before the presentation. She already sent similar messages three times today.
'Annoying woman.' He shook his head and thought before sending a few short words about how it was going to be ok.
They have been talking and meeting with each other ever since that day. The job was pretty much done in just two days, but she still kept coming back over and over again to "help" before being told by him there was nothing else left to do, spending some time with him before leaving every time.
'She didn't come today.' He thought, putting his phone away. She came to his home every single day to check on the assignment but this one, did she finally get the message? Or maybe it was because of the rain outside?
'Its better this way.' He should have been happy about it, but a small part inside of him was slightly disappointed. He didn't get why he was feelings this way, so he just shook those thoughts away. That woman caused trouble every time she came anyway.
*Thrum*
Thunder sounded.
He closed the game and turned off his computer, he was in no mood to play anymore. He sat on the sofa, took the controller with his tail and turned on the tv to watch a movie. He was laying in the sofa with a bored look on his eyes, a inexplicable feeling inside of him. The pitter patter of the raindrops outside only seemed to make him sadder.
'Maybe I'm hungry?' He thought a few minutes into the movie, deciding to eat something in the kitchen. He was in no mood to cook, so he just took a pack of instant noodles.
"Butan!! Are you There?!"
Just when he was about to heat up the water, he suddenly heard the sound of knocking and someone calling him. He looked at the door, recognizing the voice. Woofer was here?
He put the noodles down and walked to the door, he didn't have a door bell so people could only knock. He put his paws on the door handle and turned, opening the door.
What greeted his sight the usual tall shark girl, who smiled after seeing him. Her clothes were completely wet, the rain was going strong outside and the wind from it alone was chilling Butan's fur.
"Butan!! Sorry for coming without telling, can I enter?" She asked while scratching the back of her head, embarrassed.
"Just enter already before this damn rain wets everything!" He yelled before dragging her in, closing the door as the sounds of thunder of wind became fainter.
He lived in a rather small apartment that his parents left for him, if the door was open for long his entire floor would get wet.
"Don't sit on the sofa, it will wet it." He told her as she entered, as her clothes were wet. She nodded.
They started talking with each other, and to his amusement, the reason she came here on this heavy rain was because she was too anxious about tomorrow and the text messages were not enough to calm her down. He shook his head, this girl was too much.
After he calmed her down and showed there was really no reason to worry at all, she became embarrassed and seemed ready to go back home.
"I'm not going to send you away on a heavy rain like this, you better stay here until it calms down a bit or ends." He said to her.
"But-" She wanted to tell him something.
"Hush now and go dry yourself. There's a fur dryer over there, you have scales instead of fur but it should be enough for your clothes. I will go cook food for us." He pointed somewhere without looking back.
Butan did not seem to realize the fact she was a shark, so rain wouldn't really do a thing at all to her so there was no reason to keep her here....no, maybe he did know.
Butan put the instant noodles back on their place and took out ingredients. As he lived alone, he was the only one of them who could cook and he normally did so. Woofer volunteered to cook instead once, and after tasting her food, he vowed to never let this woman approach the kitchen again.
After that, Woofer spent close to two hours on his place, watching a movie together with him waiting for the rain to stop.
The rain eventually did weaken significantly, so Woofer said she had to go no matter what, seeming a bit reluctant. He sent her out, as she was leaving she turned back and smiled, waving at him before running back home.
Butan shook his head wryly, not noticing the inexplicable feeling was long gone and there was a slight smile on his lips.
