Usopp lived a very routine life every day.
In the morning, he would kindly remind the villagers not to let their guard down, then chat with Kaya about interesting stories.
After that, he would brag with Carrot Head, Pepper Head, and Onion Head, pretending to be the captain of a pirate crew.
Finally, he would practice his sniping skills—this was the only thing he was good at besides boasting.
This daily routine had gone on for so long that Usopp himself couldn't even remember how many days it had been.
"If only real pirates would come, then it would be more exciting," he thought.
"Then everyone in the village could see how great Captain Usopp is, saving the village from danger. They would think I'm a big hero!"
"'The Great Usopp, Savior'? 'Saint Usopp'? Hahaha, don't call me that! If you want to thank me, just call me Captain Usopp! Hahaha!!"
With these funny thoughts in his head, Usopp felt excited and ready to start a new day in the village.
Just then, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of the sea and suddenly froze.
With his sharp vision, he clearly saw a small boat slowly making its way toward them.
"Is that a stranded ship?"
Usopp squinted to take a closer look. He saw a guy at the bow with a big goofy grin, excitedly telling his friends about seeing land.
Then, there was another guy who looked like a monkey, getting beaten up by a pretty young girl who was trying to get some sleep.
"Yep, it's definitely a stranded ship~~~"
Usopp tilted his head in thought.
The scene before him made him think that this group couldn't possibly be pirates.
After all, they seemed way too goofy and cheerful.
But for some reason, Usopp felt a strange urge to go over and join them.
How odd…
Shaking his head, Usopp walked toward the shore, ready to greet the newcomers.
Captain Usopp was just that kind of person—always eager to help.
And no, he wasn't trying to show off as a savior to earn their admiration or gratitude.
It definitely wasn't just so he could hear them call him "Captain Usopp."
Even though that did sound pretty nice… but it wasn't the reason at all!
As Usopp was about to wave to help the boat dock, he cleared his throat, ready to make his grand entrance.
But then he saw something unbelievable.
The goofy guy in the straw hat had arms that stretched out like rubber!
It was like he was a spring!
Usopp's eyes widened in shock at this strange sight.
But before he could fully register it, he was stunned again.
Because that straw-hatted boy was shooting toward him at an incredible speed!
With Usopp's good understanding of sniping and springs, he noticed that the angle at which the stranger launched himself seemed to be… aimed right at him?!!
Bang!!
Before Usopp could finish that thought, everything went black in front of him.
It felt like he was hit by a massive truck!
Thud!!
The tremendous force crashed into the ground, creating a deep hole in the sand.
"Hahaha, we finally made it to shore!!"
Luffy shouted excitedly, raising his arms in the air, his big grin spreading across his face.
"Where are the people who can help us get a ship?!"
He looked around, his eyes darting, and quickly spotted a shadow under him.
"Uh…"
At that moment, Usopp was covered in dust and small rocks, his eyes glazed over, and his mouth gaping as he struggled to breathe, showing he was still alive.
His iconic nose was now bent at an awkward angle.
It seemed like his nose had been the part of him to take the worst hits throughout his life.
"What are you doing here?"
Luffy blinked down at Usopp, confused. "Are you sleeping?"
Usopp, unable to speak, just stared blankly.
"You idiot! That's clearly someone you just knocked down!!"
At that moment, the small boat docked nearby. Link, stepping off, saw the scene and facepalmed in disbelief.
Even though he had prepared himself for Luffy's reckless nature, he still wasn't ready for this sudden chaos.
After all, he couldn't always keep track of what Luffy was doing.
But despite Luffy's impulsiveness, it was lucky he had run into someone familiar~~~
Realizing what had happened, Luffy finally understood, "Oh? Did I really knock someone down? I'm so sorry!!"
His apology was sincere, but it somehow felt like he was doing it on purpose, which was even more annoying!
Thankfully, in the world of One Piece, people were tougher than they looked.
Especially Usopp, who would later prove to be one of the most resilient members of the Straw Hat crew.
After resting for a bit and applying some ointment, Usopp quickly returned to his usual self.
"What on earth are you guys?!"
As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw Luffy's huge face staring down at him, which made him jump back in surprise.
