The soiree finally came to an end, with all the guests gone, Merona and her head adviser returned to the queen's residence. Merona had a displeased look on her face as she walked inside her chamber.
"That stupid girl! The crown princess really has some nerves to play such silly trick with me!"
Hera spoke from behind, "I didn't expect her to set such a trap. I think we've really underestimated her, but then, no matter her smartness, she would never outsmart Her majesty. It's good that you had this backup plan."
"Damn that girl!" Despite Hera's words, Merona still had a displeased look on as she angrily kicked an ornament out of her way. Hera knew from experience not to speak up again when the queen was in a such bad mood.
Merona strode towards the couch in her chamber and sat down. That insolent fool of a maid! If she had just played her part well, all this wouldn't have happened, things would have turned out in her favors today!
