Back at Anne's table, where she was seated with Mary. The both of them had been exchanging letters ever since they had met at the Morrison banquet, they had became somewhat close.
Since Mary didn't have any friends anymore but Anne, she sat with her on the same table, but Anne had been stuffing her mouth with the delicious food served at the ball, while Mary was only sipping from the wine in her hand.
"Why aren't you eating, Mary? Is the food not to your liking?" She asked, but Mary shook her head, "No. It's not the food...I don't want to eat as I have to watch my diet. I'm trying to avoid eating too much, because I want to lose a bit of weight."
Anne replied with an, "Oh I see." Because Mary wasn't even fat in the first place to want to lose weight. Who cares about some stupid diets? She'd eat the way she wanted, and nothing would happen.
