Enmoutef's POV
....
Opening my eyes, the scene in front of me left me speechless.
The sky was darkened, despite the full moon you could barely see a few meters in front of you.
In a fairly dark alley, a woman walked quickly with a child on her back. It sounded like she was trying to hurry without making too much noise. Her face was hidden by a shadow preventing me from seeing her properly.
But, for some strange reason my heart was beating violently. I was suspended a few meters above the stage. I didn't need to move as my body followed the woman's movements.
Turning my head in the direction the woman was coming from I spotted two shadows approaching. But they stopped before the alley and then they disappeared.
I then turned my attention again to the woman who had almost arrived from the other end of the alley. The moonbeams were finally able to reach her face revealing a beautiful angelic face. Despite the fact that she was breathless and breathing very heavily, it was hard to miss her beauty.
I was petrified, I finally understood why I was so scared. This woman was none other than my mother.
The more time passed the more my heart was beating. I couldn't get my hands on what was bothering me so much but I had to do something. Trying to move my body as I wanted to reach my mother, I managed to lose some altitude. This effort was not without consequence, my head hurt to the extreme it was as if he was ready to explode. I wanted to give up and let things go, when my eyes opened wide.
In front of my mother were two guards, they were familiar to me but I couldn't remember them. At least until a fourth person shows up. My uncle and his guards thought I.
He had a triumphant smile on his face and his eyes looked at my mother with as much vice as I remembered. I cringed in front of the scene, my anger was so great that I forgot my pain and went to my mother.
_ My sweet, where are you fleeing? You know it was my brother's last wish to take care of you.
_ My husband is not dead!. What right do you have to judge whether a man is dead or not?
Says my mother with undisguised anger on her face.
_ Oh..! Sorry sweetie didn't I warn you? Sending them to the southern kingdom never comes back especially in its times of wars.
_You lie my husband was not sent there the council did not allow it.
_My sweet, you misunderstood me. Said my uncle, the smile on his face deepening.
You see, my brother has too much power over the priests. The council was concerned about this fact wanted to make it disappear. But I couldn't let my brother be killed so cowardly. I then offered this alternative to him and to the council. He will perish in the honors of his faith. Hahahaaa...
I had long since stopped approaching the group, I had been disoriented by the conversation. But now my heart is literally boiling with rage. My mother never told me how my father died. Now I knew it, it was them again.... The council and my uncle.
My eyes were bloodshot, I had squeezed my hand so hard it was bleeding. Unable to hold back any longer, I pushed my whole body straight onto my uncle. The pain couldn't stop me anymore the veins all over my body were squirming under my skin like worms but I didn't care. In a few seconds I was in front of my uncle, arms in front, ready to strangle him.
My speed was prodigious, nothing could stop me from taking my revenge. But I just walked through it like a mirage. My eyes were wide open I was confused when suddenly it hit me.
I was in my mind, anger and fear made me lose sight of this detail. I calmed my mind again. Everything around me had gone black again. Nothing on the horizon, thinking about it I had gained a lot from this experience. Now I knew my real enemies.
As soon as I woke up I felt like I had undergone a rebirth. I saw the world in a new light, the colors are much brighter, I feel the presence of all the people in my home. My mind was a bit messy from the influx of new knowledge, but I'll get used to it soon enough.
The first thing I had to do was to carefully sort through this knowledge. I was about to meditate when there was a knock at the door.
I knew it was the problems that were coming. And I knew exactly which ones.
_ Master we have just received a message from the court. The king asks you to see, .... the guards are waiting for you outside.
Say my maid behind the door.
The report of the morning's events must already have reached the king's ears.
It was a little faster than I thought but my caution paid off again. As soon as I got back I got to work, now I can set up my plan without any acro.
I left my room, I was a little more confident now that I was the only one with the knowledge of the lords. As I walked towards the exit, I looked for a moment at the plant I was holding. It no longer had the mist around it and a large part of the inscriptions called runes had disappeared. Nevertheless each of its leaves shone like crystal. And I knew exactly how to use them to save my life.
I left my house and was immediately led to the yard. Since the lords had little to no interaction with anyone other than our group, the court won't take action against me right away. But this will not be delayed because Lord RAS told me that they will leave very soon. I had to prepare as he told me, before they left.
After those words the smile on my face intensified.
In less time than it took to think about it, I was already in court. This room was dimly lit precisely to create a heavy atmosphere.
The throne was more than six meters above the ground, four huge statutes framed the court and two of them were on the two sides of the throne. Everything was done to show the importance and the power of the king.
The powers that be were fairly new. To allow the solid base construction the king preferred to make all his presence authoritarian and divine. It's a small thing in itself but this approach weakens the mental of all those who are facing the court.
The layout was the same as in my memories, the king on his throne towered above all other people present here. Around him an atmosphere of apparent superiority reigned. He wore various ornaments and symbols that could only be considered real treasures. Strangely, his face could this time be so fully seen. He wore a Nemes, not letting see higher than those eyes. They were brown without any real particularity, but they gave off a coldness in you that made your blood run cold. Her face was beautiful and her features mature. His total indifference in my presence showed how insignificant I was in his eyes and that he alone had the real power here. In front of the old me all this would have already made me accept my judgment without complaint.
But I knew it was all just a facade. The coming of the lords, was undoubtedly a godsend for him. This cemented his power in the minds of the people. They saw him as the chosen of the gods and that was exactly what he wanted. And it was going to serve me, being the only one who had remained at Lord RAS's side since his arrival, I was very precious in their eyes, at least as long as the lords remained. He was currently chained and fighting him didn't scare me anymore.
Around me were the members of the court. Those old fools, they had their heads down but I could see the undisguised greed they had looking at the plant in my hands. I was starting to cringe when I heard the king's voice.
_We learned that Lord RAS had given us a gift.
After a pause, he continued his equally calm but much colder voice.
_ why then did I have to wait before you presented it to us?
I suspected it.
Fortunately, instead of having me killed immediately, he instead asked me the cause. As I thought he still cared about me and therefore was unaware of the future departure of the lords.
It will make things much easier for me.
Calming down I answered
_ Pardon me for saying it, but it seems that you have misunderstood the intentions of the lords.
Pausing to observe my surroundings, I noticed a slight twitch in the king's face. Knowing that these spies brought him every word of Lord RAS as well as the events of this morning, I could bet on what he knows and what he doesn't know.
_ You! How dare you insult the king?
Say one of the counselors right next to me. His face was twisted with rage. It looked like I had committed an unforgivable crime against him. He was one of the main adviser's supporters, therefore a pure enemy.
But again I knew it was a show. They all wanted the gift from Lord RAS. The king was not the only one to have spies in Lord RAS' group of followers.
The information that this plant contains new knowledge had already reached them. They will do anything to take it away from me and keep it for their own benefit. And nothing better than having me admit my fault and take it away from me or better still get myself killed. Thus they will play an important role in the disappearance of a traitor and will be well seen by the king. It was well thought out but in this situation it was suicidal.
_ Did I give you permission to speak?
The king's voice echoed throughout the room. I didn't know that it was possible to freeze someone by simple voice but I had just had proof of it. The adviser was motionless, he had a slight contraction but everyone knew he was petrified with fear. In his eyes, you could see his surprise at the king's actions.
Of course, he didn't understand why the king was attacking him when he was supporting him.
_ Hmm..
Heaving a sigh I felt sorry for him inside. If he had followed my words, he wouldn't have made such a stupid mistake. And I could have hurt him myself afterwards.
In his haste to make himself look good, he rushed over and broke his wings.
What my words implied was that Lord RAS had given instructions they were unaware of. So instead of throwing himself into the crowd and risking the wrath of one of the lords, the king preferred to wait and listen to my words. If it's lies, it'll give him a good reason to get me killed. The king and the other advisers understood this well and preferred not to risk too much.
_ Forgive my mistake sir.
Say the advice with your head down. He knew he was in deep shit and it made him tremble on the spot.
_ This will not happen again.
And the king's next words confirmed it. Finally turned his attention back to me, he said
_ Make sure to transmit the intentions of Lord RAS.
After those words, I knew everyone was going my way.
_ Lord RAS gave me his plant, which carries his gifts. In this plant he passed knowledge of their magic. These will only apply to agriculture... were these words. And the second and no less the best, the plant itself. As you can see it is far from original. Using it well can lengthen a person's life, heal all wounds and illnesses. Yes lords and this he left in our care.
After that I took a deep breath and continued
_ But my king, I know what question you are asking yourself. Having had it in my hands, I asked myself it too.
Where is the knowledge I spoke of earlier?
And I got my answers when I got to the city. I have been subject to violent headaches since I had this gift in my hands. Aware of its fragility, I did not want to put it in a bag.
Once I realized that these headaches were due to knowledge flooding into my mind, I passed out in my apartment. I had just woken up when the guards came.
I knew my story had holes, but they were left there on purpose. The best example would be, how did I get the knowledge? The only clue they have was the words of Lord RAS, either...nothing. They just knew they were related to the plant.
And my blatant ignorance about it in my story also showed them that I didn't know anything about it. In addition, the current appearance of the plant should support my words. The key was their ignorance.
_ So you currently have this knowledge in you. Tell us if others can also receive them?
Tell the king his impression unchanged from the very beginning.
I knew exactly what he was trying to do. From the present appearance of the plant, he knew that the knowledge was now within me. Obviously he didn't want to take any risks. In case, I intentionally took this knowledge, he had to find a way to make me disappear without losing it. Because since their arrival it was the first really tangible gift that the lords offered. The question about them was of the first order. he wasn't the king for nothing, I thought.
_ This is still quite vague in my mind. But from what I have learned, there are some that can be transmitted but this will take a long time. The best would be disciples trained in view of our means and the enormous amount of information. I promise the king that in a very short time I could teach them to others
It was very brief but I saw the king's eyes twitch at my words. He knew I was trying to make myself indispensable and it irritated him to be used. He was not the only one to have reacted, all the advisers were in euphoria.
They knew the plant had a lot of vitality but they didn't know what that really meant. After my explanation they felt more attracted to the plant than before.
For them my knowledge only made me one more scientist under their yoke. And that was exactly the desired effect. I was smiling at my victory when the king's next words froze me in place.
_ So you can use whatever little origin. Interesting show us.
He was really strong. I did everything to downplay my knowledge and relayed them to a few things they could learn. And on the contrary show them the value of the plant. But the king saw in my game. And the amused expression on his face as well as the fact that he didn't ask me the question but affirmed it proves it.
So he definitely had some idea about the nature of the origin. He was more meticulous than I thought.
But luckily it benefits me because I was planning to reveal it anyway afterwards.
_ Of course my king. Although incomplete I was able to understand some things. Please forgive me for my mediocrity.
After my words I delicately deposited the plant on the ground. Then I closed my eyes and began to visualize a cloud. As indicated in my knowledge I focused on the interaction between the origin and the element air and water. What I remembered was that there were gas and water droplets all around me. With the right composition of each I could create a cloud.
I moved my hands in strange motions, I could feel the counselors watching me. Especially one at the back of the room. My Dear Uncle.
They had returned to themselves and stopped wandering on the plant.
Once I felt I had the right composition in my mind, I opened my eyes. They shone light blue and lit up the whole room.
Under the amazed eyes, the surrounding air began to converge above the plane and in less than a minute it formed a black cloud about one meter above the plant.
After a few small rumbles, he poured water directly on the plant.
I could very distinctly hear the cries of surprise behind me. I was delighted.
After another minute the cloud dispersed leaving me lactating covered in sweat. To do more was beyond my efforts and even then it was something that should only have been possible after years of study alongside the lords. I had received an Incredible Blessing and that was just the tip of the iceberg.
_ This makes us happy, that one of my most faithful subject has not only brilliantly accomplished his support mission, but that he will also be a future scholar at our side.
Once again the king was laying his nets. I doubted it a bit but now I'm sure. He knew the lords would leave soon. And all this was so as not to show it to the advisers while trapping me.
I smiled inwardly at his thoughts.
The real gift I had was the brides of the future and I knew that I had to stay with him to found one of the most powerful dynasty in the world and also to prepare humanity for the end of the old era. . I will start by clearing this yard and getting my revenge very slowly. Now wealth and power had no interest in my eyes, the only thing that mattered to me was the wish of the lords for humanity.
....
Following his words, Enmoutef's eyes flashed red for a moment. But no one had noticed, including him.
....
In the black metal building that overlooked the city
Standing in front of a window looking into the distance, RAS looked haggard and his eyes shone a more pronounced red than usual.
After a while he regained his mind and said
_ Mistress, the plan is going as we hope.
Behind him seated in front of a huge screen was his young mistress.
The room was overly large. But its shape in general was round with six huge windows. In front of each stood a lord including RAS.
_ Is this the case for each of you?
Each lord, except RAS, turned and knelt down before responding.
_ Yes!
_Yes!
_ Yes!
_Yes!
_Yes!
_ it's excellent, we're leaving now we've already interfered too much.
The entire building shook slightly before slowly rising and disappearing into the distance. All that was left was a huge wasteland in the middle of the city.
Sorry for the second chapter a little later . I'll catch up.
