“Phew.” Kon rose from the bench he had been sitting on all night.
“Why are you hiding out here? Are you avoiding your admirers, tonight?” Their chef smirked.
“Nah. I wasn't feeling okay.” Kon stretched his muscles. “Working overtime yesterday exhausted me.”
“It was for the best. I got the biggest tip ever! You would have been the one who would have gotten it since she obviously came for you.” Mary flashed the money on Kon's face.
Kon frowned at her words.
“Was it the young girl who came with her father?”
“Yes.” Mary eagerly nodded. “You should have seen how disappointed she was when I told her that you took a sick leave. It made me want to bring her to the back, to see you.”
Kon didn't say a word. He strode over to his locker and got his bag. “I only worked for a few hours. You can take all I earned, I'm leaving.”
