“Didn't get enough sleep last night?” A female worker asked when she noticed Kon yawning uncontrollably.
“Beats me.” Kon sighed. “I was avoiding someone and ended up going home later than normal. I slept a little after 4.”
“Why are you still working? You should have called in sick or something.” She frowned. “You are still young, you shouldn't stress yourself. It's the weekend.”
“I know. It's just that I need the money.” Kon shrugged.
“But—”
“I know you are looking out for me, Rose. But you don't have to. I've gotten used to it. Don't worry, when I make it, I will sleep for 24 hours without doing a thing.”
Rose rolled her eyes at his words. “We all know that's a lie. You won't rest. Jerry—”
“Can I get a vanilla ice cream?”
Kon froze at the sound of the voice. He slowly turned, only to widen his eyes in shock.
