Like I said I wanted to invite John to a cafe but I forgot I don't have his phone number. I am so stupid!! But it would be odd to ask his number as I only met him once or twice. Anyways it was his job ask me for my number rather than other way around.
So after thinking about a lot I ended up going straight to his company hoping to meet him.
His company was really big. When I parked my car, I went to the reception. I saw a blond girl in the reception. She was pretty.
I smiled at her and asked, "Hello, is John Smith here today?"
She looked at me or I should say scanned me from top to bottom. I found it very uncomfortable but I ignored it anyways. She did a fake smile and said, "Yes, he is. Do you have an appointment?"
"No, I don't. I actually know him. Can you call him and let him know that I'm here?"
"Then you should probably leave miss. Mr. Smith is busy and he does not just meet anyone claiming that he/she knows him." I was speechless. I was being so polite and here this girl was mocking me? Do I look that easy to bully? And why do people looked down on people who were not rich? I did dressed normally not wearing any branded clothes.
I was so mad. But I maintained my calmness outside. I rolled my eyes and left the reception. Of course! How can I be so lucky? I don't have his number nor I can enter his Company.
I was about to leave when I saw a familiar figure. Did I suddenly got lucky? I immediately went towards him with a happy face.
"Hey, Mr. John." I called him out. He was not looking towards me. When I called him, he looked towards my direction. I was marching towards him.
He seemed a bit surprised and gave me a weird look. But then he turned back to his normal self.
"You're Miss Grace?" He asked as soon as I reached him.
"Yes. You didn't forget me, did you?" I asked him smiling. I knew that he didn't recognised me at the first glance because I cut my hair. I did looked different.
"No, its just...you look different." He smiled back.
"Oh. That's why." I reacted completely innocent. I can win oscar if I kept up with my acting like this. I didn't know that I could act this well. I am proud of myself.
"Miss Grace, you had anything to talk to me?" He asked me as we stood in a corner.
"Yes, actually. Can we go somewhere else? If you are not busy and if you don't mind." I said. People were stopping by and giving us weird looks.
"Yes sure. There is a Cafe nearby. Let's go there." He said. I nodded my head. Before leaving I turned back and saw that blond receptionist was staring at me. I smirked and winked at her before matching the pace with John.
I am sure it made her mad. I am not a white-lotus female lead who will just endure when people looked down on her. Sure I am not sinster like the original host but I am not a person who is easy to bully.
The Cafe was only five minutes far. We quickly reached there. John booked a table and we sat. I ordered a chocolate milkshake while John orfered a strong black coffee.
Though I do like coffee but not that much. Milkshake is way better than coffee in my opinion.
"So you wanted to tell me something?" Finally after some time John broke out the peace. I looked at him. He was sure very handsome and had a aura of nobility. But he is way better than that living ice-cube Rustler.
I took a long breath and explained everything to him. Even I was sold out by my father and brother, I have absolutely no reason for refusing to join the King's company.
I looked at John after I finished. He frowned a bit but again went to his calm appearance. I relaxed a little.
"I am sorry John but I really have no choice. You know I can't afford to offend the Kings." I made an apologetic face and said to him. Because this world was a novel, the male lead's power and wealth was beyond one's imagination. Even though the original host's family can be called wealthy but as compared to the Kings they were nowhere near. The difference was like between land and sky.
"It's okay. I understand. I think it is also a nice thing that you got a chance to be an intern in the King's company. It is a very big acheivement." He said with a mild voice.
I completely agreed with him. I nodded my head thoughtfully. This world completely revolved around the male lead and female lead. So even if it is an internship, it can be considered a blessing.
But like heck I care! I wanted to work in another company. But I ended up in the male lead's company.
We talked for a while. And this time John actually asked for my number. So we exchanged our numbers. Even though he is second male lead, I have to keep an eye on him as well. Like I said, Keep your enemies closer.
Though John is not my enemy right now but after female lead's appearance, we might stand on two different sides.
John recieved a call and he said he had an important meeting to attend. So we bid our goodbyes. I was very relaxed that I ended things clearly. After that I drove around the city and visited various places and spots. It was a fresh feeling for me. I was always busy with work in my world. Now that I am in this world, I can relax.
Soon monday came. Because it was my first day, I decided to prepare things, so I wokeuo early. I took a shower and ate my breakfast. Then I went through my wardrobe and picked out a pale white blouse and black pencil skirt. I matched my outfit with some black flats. Heels are really not for me. Last time I twisted my ankle. I don't want that type of incident to repeat again.
I only applied sunscreen, mascara and lip gloss. I had no intention to go to work with heavy makeup. My hair was short so I just branched my hair into two sides and braided some parts of each side and joined them at the back. This was my favourite hairstyle.
I carried my bag which was a big one. I am a very needy person so I carry many things at once. Prevention is always better than cure. I told mom that I was leaving and left with my car. Dad and brother already headed out to our company early in the morning.
My brother gave me an internship card yesterday. It was to enter the company. Normal people can't enter the Kings' Company at all. They all need apointments. And all the employees must carry their ID card or else they were not allowed to enter the company. The employees had to enter the company between 9:00 am to 10:30 am otherwise they were not allowed to enter.
I read the rules of the Company as I was going to work there. Not work exactly. But anyways. And I found that even interns get paid. And it was a good amount as well. I was amazed. Though the company was very strict but it was very good to its employees and workers. So no wonder it was the best. Even in my world there are not these type of companies.
I drove to the Company and parked my car. I went inside the company after showing my internship card. I took a deep breath and went towards the elevator.
