Youth, it's the best moment of our lives, the time when we discover who we are and, if we're lucky, we find a partner to ease our lonely hearts. All it takes is a risk. A question. The hardest words to utter.
"Rikku, I like you." Zan mustered his words, gripping his palms tightly to calm his nerves. "Will you go out with me?"
The worst she can say is no, right?
"I'd rather eat goatheads." She replied with a smile.
"Goatheads?"
"Yes, those prickly little seeds that make legos feel like silk when you step on them… I'd rather grab a handful of them, open wide, and toss them down my throat like a pill addict. Most will get stuck in my mouth. Some will stick themselves to my throat as they go down my system. And some will go through my entire body, and eventually, I'll defecate them out… I'm sure the pain would be unfathomable… But it would still be more pleasant than going out with you."
"Ouch, a simple 'eww' would've done the job." Zan's voice squeaked.
"Plus, that hair of yours." She lifted her hands and smirked. "An afro? Seriously?"
No one disses my hair, even if they're hot!
"It's called fashion." Zan retaliated. "Not that some girl who draws her eyebrows on would know anything about it."
She glared at him. "You're a hundred and twenty pounds soaking wet… And with that hair… You look like a giant Q-Tip."
"Fashion comes with its flaws… And… The risk of heatstroke…"
"Why are you talking to me?" Rikku sighed heavily. Two equally beautiful girls and four boys with well-developed abs and chests stood next to her. And they were tall, much taller than Zan. "Just because you pea-cocked your hair out doesn't make you any less of a loser to me…"
"What makes me a loser?" Zan asked without really contemplating his question.
"Seriously?" She lifted one side of her lip up, showing one fang. "What makes you think you're anything other than ordinary? You're not tall, handsome, smart, or even wealthy. You're average, and someone like me doesn't want average. I want the best I can snatch up. If that means squashing a few insects along the way, so be it… I'm surprised you thought I'd say yes… This isn't some shitty web novel… This is the real world… So pull up your whitey tighties, go home, and cry into your waifu pillow… Like the typical nerd…"
"Lalatina doesn't deserve that." Zan shook his head, irritated that she actually managed to pull some of his strings. "And so what if I'm not exactly what you want… You're right. I'm a nerd… I love anime, books, manga, comics, and video games. You name it… Just to add to the nerdiness, I hate sports. I don't care for fast cars. In fact, anything you would deem 'manly' or 'cool,' I'm just not into it… And I think that's just fine… You may not like me… But I love myself… And unlike you, I don't look at anyone who's below me as a bug… My ego is not that fragile…"
Rikku's eyes widened for a second. Then she shook her head, regaining her composure. "If you're at the bottom of the totem pole, the only direction you can look is up."
"You're knee-high on that totem pole, yet you look down on others…" Zan giggled, which earned him glares from all the popular students. "You know what, I'm glad you rejected me, cause if we did date, you would've made me miserable."
"Tell yourself whatever you want." She scoffed and bit her lip.
"Alright, I'll tell you the truth." Zan ran his hand through his afro. "I am worthy of someone, and that someone won't be a stuck-up bitch who surrounds herself with other stuck-up assholes."
That, in turn, made the boys move towards Zan. Their eyes were filled with hate. One grabbed Zan's collar and pulled him closer. Easily half a foot taller than him and with twenty or so extra pounds of muscle. "Want to tell us that again?"
Around him, the peons of students eavesdropped. A fight was bound to happen.
"If you're that easily triggered, then you're someone who's easily manipulated."
One blow to Zan's chest was enough to bring him down to his knees, knocking the air out of his lungs.
"You talk big, but if one punch is all it takes to knock you down. Then no one will take you seriously." The jock stepped away satisfied, rubbing his knuckle as he left.
"Arrogant to think I'd go down after just one punch." Zan forced himself up, struggling to breathe, with a metallic aftertaste in his mouth. "I know I can't win one on one… But it doesn't matter how many times you hit me… You'll never break anything past my body…"
"Maybe not alone." He signed to his friends using two fingers. They quickly jumped Zan. One held his arm and hair as the other's pounded on his face, chest, and legs.
Fuck.
"That's enough, guys." Rikku waved her hand, calling off her hounds. "Any more, and you'll draw too much attention."
The three guys stopped beating on him but not before one grabbed Zan's pants and pulled them down to his knees. Zan was so beaten he didn't have the strength to pull them back up.
"I was wrong." Rikku laughed. "You wear briefs, but sailor moon? Seriously?"
That's Sena Kashiwazaki, you uncultured swine…
Two of the jocks walked back to Rikku and the other girls, except for Julian, who whispered in Zan's ear. "Next time you get punched, learn your place and stay down. I don't enjoy hurting the weak." Once he said that, the large teenager stood up and walked away, leaving Zan bloodied and with his pants down to his knees. A few students around him walked away. Nobody was going to involve themselves, and for a good reason.
My place? Ha, idiot, my place is where I choose to stand… And I refuse to let myself believe that I'm beneath you… I'll never be beneath crap… Damn, my afro is a hindrance in a fight… I'm still keeping it… Cause it looks cool…
His mind numbed, and he closed his eyes, then darkness.
The chilly night woke Zan up. He rubbed his face, it was sore, and blood had dried up around his lip and nose. School had ended, and nobody had bothered waking him up.
That's to be expected… Three months of school, and I already botched my social life… Oh well.
"Back to gotcha games." Zan glanced at his phone, he had no missed calls or texts, but his app told him it was time to refuel on oil and gold. At least he had his battleship waifus.
Zan stood up, taking in the scene of the school. It was long abandoned. But some backpacks littered the football field. "That's odd." Zan tugged on his backpack and moved away from the school.
It was dark, and he had missed the school bus, and with no one to call, he walked home. His face pulsed, and blood ran down his cheekbone. Luckily the chill air numbed it a little. As he walked, he grasped that the streets were empty, except for the occasional lone car.
Above him, dozens of lights shined deep in the sky, like stars with dozens of colors, from deep purple to bright pink. He smiled.
{[At least something good came out of this day. Sure he lost his chance to get a girlfriend, and he got beat up, and his pants were pulled down, and now he's walking home in the dark… Okay, there's a lesson somewhere.]}
"A warrior walks these streets." A devilish voice interrupted the silence.
Zan stopped and glanced to his right, hidden by the darkness and standing under the only streetlight that had burnt out was a girl. Short, with a slim build. She wore a black coat that covered her arms but exposed her chest and stomach. Her hair went down to her butt, and it was as red as fire with traces of yellow and pink at their tips. Her skin was as pale as snow, and her chest was as flat as the latest smartphone.
"Blood has been spilled. Your face shows the scars of war…" The girl glanced up at Zan. "Warrior of this world, did you return victorious?"
"Nope, I got my ass handed to me… I asked the wrong girl out, and her friends hurt me…" Zan rubbed his face, reopening a wound on his cheek, bringing a line of blood down his face. "The vice of every teenager is what lies between our legs. Once it starts thinking for us, we make stupid decisions…"
"So men are turned away here… Interesting…" Her black nail grazed her pink lips. The girl smiled at him. "Our efforts weren't wasted this time…"
"Efforts?" Zan studied the girl as the light above them turned on, revealing her outfit more. She wore a red leather top that wrapped around her chest. It was set to show off non-existent breasts. And red booty shorts. She was cute and wore a red beanie that covered her ears.
"Yes, the cosmos are finite. Not in terms of resources or energy, but in terms of life itself… Your world takes advantage of their most valuable resource…" The girl spoke while she glanced up at the stars. The lights shined down on the world. That's when she caught Zan had blood rolling down his face. She jumped forward, and her hands wrapped around his stomach.
Zan hesitated, but something about her drew him in.
This is new… Getting randomly hugged isn't too bad. In fact, this is great….
She licked his cheek, which snapped the teenager out of his trance. "What was that?"
"That was me savoring this world. As I thought… This bitterness." She pointed at Zan with a proud gaze. "You're a virgin!"
Alright, moments over. Now we're mortal enemies.
The chirp of a cricket interrupted the awkward silence between the two.
"You're obviously on drugs." Zan shook his head. "Where are your parents, kid?"
"Drugs? Parents?" The girl's eyes widened, and her jaw dropped. "I'm not on drugs, and I'm old enough to live on my own! Your lucky you have those ears… If anyone else talked down to me, I would let them have it!"
The girl threw a punch at the wind.
That was cringey… Might as well humor her…
"I'm sure you can! You're a big girl with a powerful left hook. I bet your kicks are just as powerful."
"Ha, ha, ha!" She crossed her arms and tilted her head and nose up towards the sky. "You're a smart human to recognize my greatness this early on…"
She's gullible.
"I, Luna Leliel, the great tyrant of the Sombrero Galaxy. Will allow you to bend your knee and serve me…" She smirked and giggled. "If you do, I'll reward you with the thing you desire most."
Zan digested her words for a second. "Did you say, tyrant?"
"I will grant you the privilege." She ignored Zan's question. "To kiss my feet."
"… I'll pass…"
"But, but, but!" She clung to his arm. "You're a guy. Isn't this what you want… I'll even go as far as stepping on you if you want."
"Don't step on me!" Zan pushed on her head.
Holy shit, how is a girl this tiny, this strong!
"I thought all males loved strong women! I'm offering you what you want."
"I'm not one to kink shame, but feet are just not my thing!" Zan glanced around. Sure enough, curious neighbors were sticking their heads out of their homes. "Anyway, let go. You're going to make the neighbors talk."
"Not until you accept my offer."
"NO! LET GO OF ME!" Zan shoved the girl, but she wouldn't budge.
"Fine! I'll offer you…" She moved a little away from him but still clung to his arm. "My body."
Zan narrowed his eyes. "Hard pass."
"How dare you!" Luna's eyes watered, now more noisy neighbors started eavesdropping.
"Let go of me!" Zan warned as more people stared, making their way towards him. "You're staying here. I don't need you creating problems for me."
"Oh my Goodness!" A random girl screamed. "That guy is abandoning that poor girl!"
Oh, damn it!
Luna smirked once she caught that Zan's eyes shifted. An opportunity just presented itself. "After everything we went through, and you're just going to abandon me. You're throwing me away like, like, a used rag… I even gave you my first time."
In the distance, the echo of a shotgun cocking echoed.
Damn it. This girl! What is she trying to do! I'm going to end up getting shot!
"Guess what!" Zan forced a smile and patted her head. "You get to run away from this mob with me. Cause they look like they want to rip my balls off and feed them to me."
"Alright then, it seems you care about your status…"
Zan grabbed her hand and rushed her across the neighborhood. Dodging parked cars and curious neighbors. After the sprint, Zan was gasping for breath. He had subconsciously ran to his house. He was at his door, and Luna wasn't even winded.
"What is your dysfunction!" Zan glared at the girl. "You can't say those kinds of things. Especially in public."
"The ends justify the means… You see… That was to get you to hold my hand… Did you fall in love with me yet?"
"Hardly…" Zan shook his head. "You're out wearing an outfit like that, alone, and at night. These streets are dangerous… What are you thinking?"
She blinked at him. "I can protect myself."
"No, you can't. Just look at my face… This was me standing up for myself. So quit acting like an idiot before someone ends up taking it the wrong way."
"Don't ridicule me… I've been on my own for eons… Hiding away in the darkest parts… I'm no weakling… In fact." She glared at Zan. Her eyes shined a little brighter as Zan opened the door to his house, shining its light on her. "Let me… In."
She grabbed her stomach.
"Huh?"
Luna's stomach rumbled loudly, and her face reddened around her cheeks.
"You should go home and get something to eat."
"Home?" Luna's proud smirk shifted, and she glanced down at the floor and rubbed the tip of her shoe on the ground. "I don't really have a home."
Is she a runaway? Damn it… I know I'm going to regret this…
Zan grabbed her hand and pulled her towards his door. She stopped and jerked away with a petrified gaze in her eyes.
"Oh, now you're cautious… Luna, if you want to eat something… I'll make you a meal."
She raised her eyebrows… "You're… Inviting me for dinner?"
"I heard your stomach… And for what it's worth… I know what it's like not to have a place to call home… So I want you to at least have a meal with me."
"You're going to feed me?" Her eyes lit up. "I'd expect nothing less from my servant."
"I haven't agreed to serve you… Just drop the act and come inside."
"Ask me to enter using my full name." She hesitated, and her face was a bit melancholy. "Please."
"Fine… Luna Leliel, will you come into my apartment and join me for dinner."
Luna's face lit up with a massive smile. She held her head up high. "If you insist." She hopped inside the room and took a glance back outside.
"I don't really have much." Zan passed his entryway and walked into the living room. His walls were filled with posters of video games and anime characters. With a few random figures on his walls as decoration. Some were well made, while others were obvious knock-offs. "Will you be okay with instant ramen?"
"Ramen? What's ramen?"
Zan reached into his cupboard and took out two. He then turned his stove on and boiled water. Luna peered at the stove in a trance. Lastly, Zan poured the hot water into the cups and let them sit for a few minutes.
"Have you never had ramen?"
"I'm used to the general paste." She spoke bitterly and then whiffed the air with a smile. "Oh wow… I don't remember the last time I had warm food."
Zan handed her a fork, and she studied and copied how he spun his fork for the noodles. Then, she mimicked him and ate her portion.
"Oh wow…" Her eyes watered. "This… This is amazing…"
"It's just noodles."
She must've been starving… That young and running from home… I couldn't imagine…
"The food in this world… How abundant is it?" She asked, slurping on her meal.
"Abundant? Well, this world has more than enough to feed our entire population… But, honestly, if we took better care of our world, we could use it to feed our population for eons." Zan slurped on his noodles. "We have too much, and sometimes it just rots away."
"What a waste…" She shook her head and then finished her meal with a smile. "I'm glad I took the risk of coming here… What is your name?"
"I'm Zan."
"Zan, I'm serious about you serving me… So become mine, and I promise I'll give you everything you desire."
"You can cut it out with the act. I live alone, and I'm busy with work and school." He glanced at his spare ramen. He had enough for the rest of the week. "You can stay here tonight, but you should leave tomorrow."
"Are you that eager to get rid of me?" She pouted.
"I'm a guy, and you're a girl. I'd figure you'd be the cautious one here."
"So? It's not like I can go home anyway…" Luna finished her food and got closer to Zan, with a lion's aura when they faced their prey. "I will offer you anything you want."
"What about a good home, with enough money to live in luxury and dozens of friends… And maybe a girlfriend…"
"What you ask isn't a lot…" She leaned closer to him, enough to graze his chest. Zan fell back on his couch with her mounting him. "You were my first man, after all…"
"Wait, wait, wait. We didn't do anything. Don't go to the cops with that."
"You're the first man I've ever tasted…" She licked her lips. "I want more… But you refuse to serve me… Why is that?"
Zan sensed his heart race. His face blushed. Now that she was this close to him, he grasped just how cute she was. Her waist was just the right size, and her butt was nothing to laugh at.
"If you keep pushing me… I won't resist… I am a guy, after all…" Zan warned her while he still controlled himself.
Luna raised her eyebrow, then smiled. "You smell delectable… I wish you would beg, but you're not what I expected…" She leaned closer to his ear.
Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, it's actually happening. I'll finally climb the walls of adulthood. Mom, Dad, do you see your son from heaven? I'll finally get some…
"Are you ready?" She whispered once more.
"Fuck yes… I'm cool with you leading too, 'cause I don't know what to do from here."
"Good." She pressed her chest against his. "Cause… I'm a vampire."
Yes! Wait… A what?
Luna bit into his neck, leaving a sharp pain, and blood gushed from his veins into her mouth.
"Pickle juice!" Zan roared, but the pain faded, and his body numbed for a second. He was in bliss, then the weakness followed. "Stop it!"
Luna rose up with a big smile on her face, her lips were covered in blood, and her fangs retracted. "Thank you for the meal."
"Why would you do that! Something is wrong with your head… Blood isn't something I can just give away… And… And… And… Did your boobs get bigger?"
"Oh, these?" Luna lifted her chest, from as flat as a floppy disk to a decent-sized pair, like two oranges. "So it's true, male blood changes my body to something they find ideal…"
"So you're saying my blood will make you busty?"
"Exactly."
"… Keep going. Just bite and suck as much as you want. Don't stop until those puppies weigh you down."
"If I keep draining, your life."
"Screw my life! If I die, it'll be for a good cause!"
Oh damn it, I feel dizzy… Oh, tamales…
Zan closed his eyes, and darkness overtook him.
"How interesting." Her eyes glowed red, she licked the wounds on his neck, and they healed quickly and magically. "Your aura radiates mana, but your race can't use it… I'm delighted someone like you is in this world… Your soul shines bright white, a virtue they will seek… When the others come, they'll want to devour you… As for your desire."
She placed his head on her lap. Even her body grew. She wasn't as tiny as before. Her fingers ran through his afro. "The girls in this world don't know how easy they have it… They're about to get a rude awakening… This world has approximately 4 billion males… By now, the oracles should be organizing for first contact… I'm glad I stayed awake for eons… It was worth it… The first male blood I've ever tasted… It's stronger, thicker, and bitter, in a good way… I will make you mine, Zan."
******
"Princess Aurora." A woman with deep green eyes and black bunny ears knelt in front of a woman wearing a veil over her face. "The oracles were correct. This world is filled with sentient life. As we speak, we're waking up the rest of the girls in cryosleep."
"Good. What of the criminal?"
"Luna escaped in a stolen ship. Unfortunately, she's on a planet with over eight billion people." The bunny girl explained. "She broke out of her cryopod eons ago and wandered the ship while we all slept. Then Luna waited until we were close to this planet and made her escape… If you want, I can dispatch a team after her."
"That will have to be done discreetly. The last thing we need is an incident." The queen lifted her hand. "Stand, Avril. I'd prefer if my friend didn't kneel to me."
Avril stood up. She wore a button-up blouse with a small dress skirt that pulsed blue and white. "As you command… The queen is still in her pod. Her illness will make it impossible to awaken her until a cure is found… So until then, you must lead us…"
"I understand." Aurora stood off her throne and paced towards her friend. The room was made of glossy steel and glass that bowed with their ship. In the distance lay the Earth and the Moon. They had successfully placed their ships near the Earth. However, they didn't interrupt the planet's natural rotation. They instead used their ships to stay within a thousand miles from the planet. "What can you tell me about this world?"
"It's called Earth, and Aurora… It has humans." Avril tried to hold back her smile. But it came out. "Just like our fairy tales, so it was true that one of our kind visited this planet thousands of years ago… It's so strange knowing that creatures used in our fantasy stories are actually living beings… Luckily, the extinction virus hasn't manifested in this world. So, as of now, they have the ability to create both male and female children…"
"Seriously? We lucked out… Did you scan the men? Is it possible?"
"I scanned them… And yes, they are capable of helping us reproduce. It's possible for the men in this world to procreate with multiple women in a day… It's abundant in their works of literature, entertainment, and they even have pornography, and get this… It focuses on the females instead of the males."
"Say what?" Aurora prolonged her words, and her ear shot up. "So you're telling me the men in this world enjoy sex? So much they watch it in videos?"
"Yes, we tapped into their internet, and about thirty percent of it is pornography… My princess, this world is nothing like ours. Our records claim that our men hated sex and rarely procreated with women unless they were wealthy, powerful, or fit. And sometimes, that wasn't enough for them. But these men, they desire sex."
"I wasn't expecting men from any race to be so sexual." The princess paced towards the enormous window and put her hand on it. "Life is sacred, but it all dies after it peaks… Men are always nature's first targets, they die, and all life ends… It's happened to every race on our ships… It'll happen to this world as well… We gathered the brightest minds from hundreds of worlds and barely managed to make it this far. Luck was truly on our side… We need to prepare for the worst-case scenarios as well… What kind of weapons does this world have?"
"They're not even a tier-one civilization. This world is still divided and fighting each other for resources… They still use gunpowder and radiation. According to our scans, they can use magic, but they haven't unraveled that DNA in their bodies… If we invade their world, we can take them by force."
"No, we're here to benefit both demi and humankind… We're not here to shed blood…"
"Most of the women on the flotillas were born with what little sperm we had left from our former worlds. They've never seen a man face to face, and the simulations are all wrong. These men aren't like the ones from our worlds. We're going to have to create new simulations for our women to act appropriately."
"Unfortunately, we don't have time for that. We've been drifting through space for thousands of years, and our ships need repairs. We need to make contact now… This world has the rarest item in the galaxy, the male race… We, in turn, will offer this world a chance to become a type two civilization. We can extend their lifespans, create technology that'll make their lives easier. Introduce them to magic, and all we ask for return is the opportunity to procreate."
"Princess." Avril glanced at the tablet in her hands. "The ladies are ready for you to give them a speech… They're anxious for your orders."
"Put me on the monitor. It's time we prepare them for their futures."
Avril tapped on the tablet she had in her hands. Immediately two floating cameras surrounded the princess. They were oval-shaped with a circular blue light below them to keep them floating.
Ten billion women, drowsy from their long cold slumber dressed themselves. Their clothes were as different as their races. The underline feature between all of them was how similar they were to humans, minus their ears. Most of the girls had animal ears, or elven ears, tails, and wings. But they all had human faces. Most of the girls with elven ears had horns. Their horns varied, from some that curved like a ram to some that curved up like a bull. Other's had cat, bunny, or dog ears.
The princess cleared her throat and made her speech.
"After traveling for thousands of years, we've finally awakened billions of miles from our galaxy… The cold and cruel nature of space prevented us from moving quickly, and nature itself turned against us… We were left with no more men to continue our lineages… But now, we stand upon a foreign world, one in its infancy… We exhausted the love nectar reserved for our population, and it seemed like we would be the last women of our races, so we searched the stars and risked everything to move forward. It was a necessary gamble so we could continue the cycle of life… We did it… We're at the edge of a world with living men… One's who haven't been infected with the race-killing illness, with them we can continue life… We achieved our goal!"
Throughout the massive ships, ten billion women cheered. Some cried, and others hugged each other.
"Now for the next step… First contact, we'll need to learn their ways and adapt our habits and manners to theirs… It's essential that we follow their laws since we are intruding on their world… Ten billion women from thousands of different species, this planet can't hold all of us… So we'll start colonizing this solar system, along with the neighboring systems… And if you so desire, we can try to win their hearts… A life with just women has left us half-empty with a desire we want but have no knowledge of… But through that emptiness, we advanced our societies, united under a single banner, and took flight through the darkest parts of space… So ladies… I know what you want…"
Aurora smiled. "You want love. The fairy tale of having a man there for us, something that has been lost to us for generations... We can finally have it… Our souls will be filled once more..."
The women in the ships savored the idea in their mouths, some gasped heavily, and others blushed and glanced down. They were all fit, with dozens of body types. They expected to find a single planet, so they focused on making themselves as desirable as possible.
"My citizens and sisters. Stand by for further orders. For now, focus on repairing our ships and checking on the health of everyone who just woke up from cryosleep. Once that happens, I'll personally enter Earth and make first contact."
The demi woman clapped and cheered. Then the cameras turned off.
Aurora bit her lip away from the spotlight, and her cat-like purples dilated as her face blushed. "I can finally get laid! No more toys or simulations! Real men! Real flesh! Real cocks!"
Avril sighed heavily and spoke to herself. "You can cover it up in sweet words. I know you only took this journey because you want to know what it feels sleeping with a real man… That's why most of us followed you and left our worlds behind…"
Aurora laughed abruptly and unladylike. Her legs rubbed against each other, and her nipples got hard. "I want first dibs… No, I need first dibs… My status, looks, and wealth are top tier… I can't wait to pin a man against my bed and feel his strong and large."
"Your majesty!" Avril interrupted the princess. Her words snapped the neku back to reality. "Please keep control of yourself."
"I'm sorry for that unsightly display Avril… It must be the cryosleep… It seems to be affecting my emotions."
{[No, you're just a pervert.]}
"Your majesty. We found the criminal." Avril swung her finger from the tablet to the glass window, and it turned into an enormous monitor. Aurora studied the live feed. It went from night vision to an odd purple and white. Zan and Luna's bodies shined white. The vampire caressed Zan and played with his hair with a big smile on her face. The camera zoomed into Zan's neck. The monitor pointed out the damage and that it had been healed. "She assaulted a male and drank his blood."
"That stupid idiot!" Aurora punched the window. "My older sister always finds a way to cause problems…"
"This is bad. If this gets out, we'll have no choice but to look for another planet."
"We can't do that. Traveling through space took a toll on the ships. If we try again, most of them won't reach their destinations… We have to make this work… My older sister isn't going to ruin our hard work… Not again… Ready a ship. I'll head down there first… To meet this human."
