Chapter 5 - Don't Hurt My Son!

Under Kelly's angry gaze, the bandits reluctantly looked away and began to discuss the attack plan for the night. Dozens of men clustered together, their voices noisy. Kelly listened for a while, rolled his eyes, and quietly left.

'Just wait! No one can take equipment from me!' With one last look at the woods where the bandits were sheltering, Kelly hurried away.

In the middle of the village, a simple wooden hut hung a sign with the words 'Conference Room'.

Kelly hurried inside and froze.

Connie Jeff was thirty-seven years old, with a steady face, and he was sitting at the table eating slowly with a bowl. In the bowl were roasted sausages, accompanied by a vegetable salad. Beside him was a bowl of thick soup and a few pieces of bread.

"You're finally back!"

When he saw Kelly, Connie Jeff pursed his lips helplessly and said, "Your mother couldn't wait for you to come home and send the food over."

"I knew you'd come to me!" Connie Jeff was helpless about his son.

At such a young age, he was already so smart and jumpy, even though he could help sometimes.

At the side, a middle-aged man put down the pancake in his hand with a smile. "Kelly, you're here?"

He looked at Kelly with loving eyes. "It's all thanks to your idea last time. Otherwise, those goblins wouldn't have left!" The knights in the room said.

Peter Village was small, so there were not many knights. Those who passed the knight assessment in the big city were also unwilling to come here. There were only six knights in the entire village. Connie Jeff had helped the village too much in the past few years and contributed a lot, so he could be considered the leader of these knights.

Everyone watched Kelly grow up and liked him more and more as he grew. The reason was that Kelly was too smart!

When he was still young, he was already thinking of ways to defend the village, let alone now when he had grown up. Everyone was in a flurry after a goblin attack last year and Kelly brought his friends to miraculously guard a loophole that everyone had overlooked.

Since then, everyone liked Kelly even more.

Kelly scratched his head and said hesitantly, "I just went out and saw those merchants."

Connie Jeff raised his eyebrows. "Why? What about it?"

His son would definitely not go to the meeting room and mention the merchant for no reason!

Kelly frowned slightly. "They got mixed up with bandits in the woods. They said they were going to attack the village at twelve-thirty at night."

"About fifty people, and the leader of them…"

Kelly thought for a moment and said, "I think he's more powerful than you, Dad." Everyone in the room fell silent.

If they didn't know Kelly's character, they would have shouted, "Nonsense!" But since these words came from the Kelly they were familiar with…

Everyone turned to look at Connie Jeff. Connie Jeff frowned and thought for a moment before asking, "You went to listen?"

Kelly nodded awkwardly. "I didn't mean to eavesdrop. I was just passing by…"

"Twelve-thirty. They're going to attack the village head-on."

"A few people are good at climbing and are prepared to burn the village with oil and fire to disrupt our defense."

Conyev's face grew darker. 'Good lad! You're a child who hasn't even grown a hair, yet you've gone to eavesdrop on the conspiracy of more than fifty bandits!'

How bold!

On the side, a few knights looked at Kelly with their mouths agape. He was indeed the son of a knight, extraordinary!

A moment later, Connie Jeff said in a deep voice, "Go, inform all the soldiers to gather here!"

"Be careful. Don't let the bandits outside the village notice our movements!" As he spoke, Connie Jeff looked at Kelly. "I have a mission for you." Kelly's eyes lit up as he looked at his father.

Connie Jeff forced a smile and gritted his teeth. "Take your group of boys and gather the elderly, children, and women in the choir room. Watch over them!"

Kelly pursed his lips. "Got it."

'I thought it was something else bigger!' Kelly thought as he hurried home. As he reached the front of his house, a dozen half-grown boys and girls gathered outside.

"Brother! Where are we going?!"

"Are we still catching chickens today?"

"Why don't we sneak up the mountain and pick berries?!"

In more than ten years, Kelly had led his children of the same age to heaven and earth, and had long become the boss.

Kelly knocked on the fence. "Go, go door-to-door. We've got bandits coming."

"Gather all the elderly and children, as well as the aunties and aunties who can't move easily, to the choir room. Bring water, food, and clothes."

Goblin attacks were commonplace, even among teenagers. The teenagers looked at each other and left.

In order to defend against the goblins' attack, the entire village was surrounded by earth walls.

The gates of the village were closed. Soldiers and knights hid behind earthen walls and stood ready. The women did not flinch, either, shrinking under the walls with bows in their hands. A whistle sounded and the men tensed. The bows were loose and the battle was officially underway.

"They found us!"

"Ambush!"

"How do they know?"

The bandits were in a mess. Scarface glared at them and said angrily, "What are you all panicking for?" As he spoke, Scarface stabbed his spear into the ground. "Attack!"

In an instant, the villagers and bandits were engaged in close combat, and the sounds of battle were endless. As Kelly approached the village entrance, he happened to see Connie Jeff and Scarface fighting.

Kelly narrowed his eyes and looked at the battlefield not far away. The golden spear shone brightly in the night and was eye-catching.

Although Scarface did not know how to use the spear's effect, it was obvious to the naked eye that this spear had already provided a huge increase in his attack power.

Connie Jeff was just an ordinary Knight. Even if his strength was not low, he could not withstand this top-notch equipment!

Connie Jeff gradually fell into a disadvantageous position, almost unable to withstand the sharpness of the spear. Kelly frowned and gradually clenched his fists.

A fiery red light flashed in Kelly's dark eyes. At the same time, Kelly gently snapped his fingers, and flames appeared on his fingertips. The people around him were so busy fighting that they didn't notice this scene. Perhaps because of the connection between the spear and Kelly, scarface, who was fighting, paused and looked over.

The young man's figure was thin as he stood behind the mud wall. His gaze was deep, as if it showed how dangerous he was.

Scarface's eyes swept across Kelly's face and he smiled viciously at Connie Jeff. "Go! Bring that kid here!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a few bandits laughed and rushed towards Kelly. How could they not catch a child?

"Don't hurt my son!" Connie Jeff widened his eyes and blocked the robber.

Scarface sneered, and the golden spear went straight for Connie Jeff. "Why? Are you anxious?"

Scarface's eyes flashed with viciousness. The spear in his hand was filled with a sharp killing intent.

The long spear stabbed fiercely at Connie Jeff's heart, and everyone's breathing tightened. The knight's armor was not fragile, but that was a weapon they had never seen before!

"Dad!" Kelly's pupils constricted as he exclaimed and clenched his fists.

The moment the spear touched the armor, everyone felt their vision blur.

Bang!

The spear fell to the ground, and everyone looked shocked. The flames condensed into a fireball that lit up from the young man's fingertips and knocked down the weapon that was about to hurt his father.
