Synopsis
Lucas Asura had always hated quiet; it was tasteless and always gave him time to think and thinking wasn't his strong suit. He was a relatively calm kid, just anxious here and there, used working out as a reason to calm this. his classmates saw him as stuck up and rude since he not once spoke to anyone but here and there, and they weren't always the nicest things. plus, the vibe he gave off wasn't the most... how do you say this, inviting. there was a reason for that, this teenager hid a deep secret, one that was passed on through generation after generation. Seeing demons isn't an easy thing to deal with. ~Lucas walked to the window reflecting on himself and his deprived surroundings as he watched the rain drops racing down the windowpane. no, he wasn't like normal teens. there was no tv to be found in his room with a gaming device. Plain wooden floors and offset white walls, grey comforters and a dresser for clothes, phone in hand with headphones in. that's all he needed to satisfy him. To drowned it out. To drown them out. all the pleads and screams, all the untold stories, secrets that should never exist, people still alive that shouldn't be allowed to live. everything. His simple life of constant music, studying, and... Nuplazid, a pill that helps treat hallucinations and delusions. This has saved his life more than once. bringing himself out of his thoughts he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Synthia Grey. Synthia was an admirable saint; she wasn't the nicest person but always done what was right. New to Lucas's school but nonetheless became known in it rather quickly. she had the looks of a goddess and held herself like a swan. graceful and elegant with every step. but even she has secrets, one just like Lucas's. she might know a little more than he thinks, cause to think your alone in a world and only you can see demons is insane. and if there's people who summon them, then there's people who take them out. Lucas gulped looking through the window at the figure. He was not prepared for Synthia.~

Chapter 1 - Prologue

~The human mind is truly amazing~

The cold, salty water slowly dripped down his body, clinging the cloth to his skin, giving the small child a break from the heat of the night.

~but the human mind is also the scariest thing of all~

The moonlight lit the boy's path through the wet forest, drip, drip, drop made the sound of the patters here and there signaling that it was sprinkling and heavy rain was underway.

~all energy in the universe is constant~

"Please", cried the five-year-old tripping and stumbling through the mud, Ruining his little league red and white baseball uniform making it mold into a brownish color.

~since energy can't be destroyed this can transform into new energies, and where do those energies go? ~

"STOP", screamed the child as he fell to his knees in a cold puddle causing his clothes to soak up more mud like a sponge "please", he sobbed gripping his ears and trying to cut out the static-like noise that was ringing around him as the deep voice spoke once more.

~so tell me little boy, do you deserve to be punished for those who you have wronged?~

The deep voice rang from all around causing the kid's body to curl up tight and start spazzing out due to the mere dominating aura of the mysterious voice.

The boy's silence only brought anger towards the figure as its words boomed throughout the dark damp forest scarring all the animals and creatures away.

~I tried to be calm. I tried to explain things. But this is how you treat me!~

the voice slowly came to a pinpointed spot that was behind an old weeping willow.

Step by step, and with the crunching of each leaf a pitch-black, blurry figure could slowly be seen with the most awful grin, enough to put the joker to shame.

~I want you to remember, you deserved this little boy. Your soul will scream and beg for mercy with every passing day, you'll want to end yourself but won't have the strength to do it. I know all your demons by name boy, but I'm the only one who can truly see what you are~

With every word the black-hazed figure slowly walked closer, more bloodthirsty and menacing than the last step.

"PLEASE just get away from me you-", the boy froze feeling the presence of the thing and slowly looking up to see the face of his aggravator "d-demon!", the boy screamed gaining the strength out of pure adrenaline to slowly crawl his body back, but only to get stopped by a tree that was blocking his path of escape.

~ demon HA, I may be one but never trust a survivor until you figured out what they did to stay alive~

The demonic entity said targeting the boy as its eyes moved from the kid to where the others side of the forest was, where a cliff lies, a cliff near the sea. Only light tire marks could be found on the edge of the grassy, rocky landscape.

With a snarl and a roll of the eyes, the figure spoke once more.

~tch you are losing my interest boy, and that is dangerous~

It got down on one knee in front of the kid but not just sensing the fear off of him, but the physical fact that he was in cold sweats, shivering and shaking out of terror. tears welling up in his eyes, blood here and there from his scuffed-up cheeks and hands. That only brought a smile to the demonic entity's face, a smile that could never be forgotten or forgiven. It was full of blood lust and insanity, a true smile of a devil.

Its hand slowly moved causing the boy to flinch and look down, the black pupils of the kid's sky-blue eyes were dilated out of shock and fear.

He reached for the kid's head yanking the boy's beautiful white hair, to make him look him in the eye. The snowy color of his hair slowly turned a pitch-black color, so dark and mysterious that it would make the crows jealous. In doing so the little boy's nose started bleeding, first, it was the nose, next his ears, and finally his mouth. the child started paling more and more as if his life force was being sucked out of him.

"G-go to h—hell" the boy croaked out from his sore throat that was raw from salt water and screaming.

~go to hell?? aweee such big boy words from a small child, looks like you absorb dark energy quicker than I thought~

the smile slowly leaving the face of the demon, it let go of the kid's now coal black hair and stood up.

~Go to hell?? And leave you here all alone. I don't think so kid, you have your family to thank for this~

With every word it got more and more serious even the moonlight didn't dare show its face in that area anymore, getting slowly darker and darker till it was pitch black making the kid's head get fuzzy and body go numb.

~take my word kid. A name is a very powerful thing, make sure you don't just give it out to anyone, and when you do. bring honor to it.~

With his voice echoing all around again and the ringing static noise coming back, the demonic entity's body slowly vibrated, and phased out to God knows where. Leaving a little boy left in shadows, tears streaming down his face as if they'll never stop, but at the same time…his eyes held no emotion. He was still and didn't even dare to blink. Once white pure hair now turned Black and slicked down due to rain, his body shaking, slowly going into hypothermia.

Thinking it was the end of his life he could feel something slither around his neck making the afraid boy fear even more, shakily feeling the thing around his neck he could tell from the roughness that it was thread? like a necklace. but there was something else connected to the string, so he grabbed it. the palm of his hand was hiding something, it was some sort of charm? letting go of it and easing it back on his chest, he could feel that the cold charm happened to be a type of rock... a crystal. it touched his skin making him shiver more.

Curling his fingers around the string and trying to lift it above his head to inspect it. But that's exactly how far he got. Only above his head, if he would try to bring it past that then it would freeze and somehow fight against him and push itself back onto his body. As if it was a curse that could never leave.

Even though he was only five, he quickly realized that he had just danced with a devil. How had he managed to survive? He will never fully know.
