The rest of dinner went by smoothly, it was filled with civilized talks and further introductions to the Night's peak pack. Emma had managed to tell everyone at the end of dinner how athletic Jeremy was and what a good fashion designer Lina is.
Alpha Morgan knew more about the Roberts than everyone else gathered at dinner. He knew Emma was a waitress, he knew Jeremy did well in school and Lina was into fashion design. In fact, he had offered Lina provisions for a shop in the pack.
There were no dress shops in the pack and he thought it was a good idea to provide that for the pack. Most pack members had to go over to the human territory to get most provisions. It was a good thing to have certain necessities in the pack.
Humans having full knowledge of the existence of other species and creatures than themselves seem to be more adapting than expected. The world appears to have received such change better than expected and one could tell it was mostly because they had always heard about them in stories. Even though they were considered myths, that awareness helped the process of understanding between the two species.
There were other creatures out there but the closest to the humans were the werewolves mostly because over time there seemed to be more mates amongst the humans. Werewolves were creatures that exist in packs and wolves who decided to desert the pack ended up either losing their minds or dead. Most of these types of wolves were regarded as rogues and were to be shut down on sight.
Like in most human societies, the werewolf society had its hierarchy of power as well. It was mostly a monarchy consisting of the Alpha, the leader of the pack and the top dog, pun intended. The next in line is their Betas who are the pillars of the pack and directly under the alpha. There are the warriors of the pack which comprises mostly Deltas and ordinary members of the pack. There are also the Omegas and the new breeds, non-shifters. As a species that only valued strength, the Alpha is seen as the strongest werewolf. The betas are next in line in terms of strength.
It was the natural assumption that power resides in the blood and as such the children of any Alpha are expected to be of equal strength too. This has been the norm since time immemorial but the truth lies far from that and that's exactly why the Night's Peak pack does not operate a monarchy.
The Alpha is chosen based on strength and can be challenged once a year, it gave the pack the spirit of competition and a goal to achieve. Every wolf of the Night's Peak pack trains to improve their class and also in so doing, improve their living as well.
Alpha Morgan has been the Alpha for four years, challenged every year but has retained his position as top dog.
Every position in the pack is challenged and owners of such positions are respected and honored as they have proved their worth to the pack. The strong are required to defend and protect the weak, this extra rule was added by Alpha Morgan when he first got the title, Alpha. It was a new rule which contrasted the former where the weak were expected to serve and obey the strong.
Night's Peak pack had a different way of life as opposed to the natural way but other packs revered and esteemed the pack because of their strength which was yet to be rivaled.
