The black car came to a halt close to the entrance of the park, which was close to were Tory and Melissa sat. Melissa grimaced as she got a view of the car that she was familiar with. The window to the front seat opened and Melissa felt her stomach churn as she gazed at the person sitting in the car.
It was Jack, the loan shark. He was grinning at her and his long black hair was tied up in a man bun.
"Hey, I was driving around the neighbourhood and I spot you sitting in this dark park looking all depressed. Couldn't help but stop by." He said, grinning from ear to ear.
Tory tugged on Melissa's shirt to get her attention.
"Who is he?" she mouthed.
"Loan shark."
Tory let out a small gasp.
"What do you want now? The week isn't over yet."
"Come on, you think I'm here to hassle you for money? Don't be ridiculous, this really is a coincidence, but since we're on the subject of money..."
Melissa got up from the chair, fists clenched. "I said I'll pay you this week."
"Mel, you do know it's Saturday... right?"
Melissa felt all the blood drain from her body. She was at loss of words, no comeback.
"I..."
"Tick tock, tick tock Mel."
He rubbed his chin, and looked at the sky "Then again, this works in my favor. You not being able to pay me that is."
Melissa cringed. She knew exactly what he was referring to.
"Well then, I'll be waiting you Melissa."
The windows rolled back up and the car zoomed down the street, the smoke from the car, still visibly lingering in the air. Melissa slumped back on the bench and let out an exhausted sigh.
"Are you okay?...I think I already know the answer to that."
Melissa shot Tory a small smile. "I'll be fine."
Tory sighed and stood up from the bench.
"About Brandon, I think you both should sit down and have a civil talk about what happened in the past. Tell him how you feel and how sorry you are, I'm sure he'll listen. Just try it out."
Melissa brooded over what Tory had said for a while and nodded as she got up from the bench. "Yeah, maybe I should try that."
Melissa's phone began to buzz and she reached into her pocket and pulled it out. She stared at her screen as her mouth fell open and her eyes getting wider and wider.
"I got the job!" She squealed.
"What?"
Melissa shoved the phone into Tory's face as she screamed with excitement. "The event planning job! I got the job!"

Diana's limousine came to a stop in front of a lavishly built villa which was surrounded by trees and tropical landscape. The driver held the door for her and she got out, her secretary Nelly, following behind her carefully. Diana took one look at the Villa and she became irritated. Coming to her husband's private villa didn't please her at all.
She walked up to the door which had multiple designs on it and rang the door bell. The bell played a melodious tune and Diana waited as patiently as she could. After a few minutes and no one came to the door, Diana was getting impatient. She looked at the keypad and inputted a key. The door opened and she scoffed.
"Same old."
They both walked into the spacious building and up a set of wide stairs. Diana could remember the layout of the villa slightly even though the design had changed over the years. Chandeliers, expensive drapes, slick furniture, exquisite paintings and potted flowers placed here an there. The lavish furniture reminded Diana of how much her husband liked to spend money on things like this.
They walked past an open room that had several work out equipment in it and walked up another set of stairs. Nelly stared in amazement as they got to the third floor. The hall way had two doors at the side and a large door at the farthest end. Diana knew what room that what and walked towards it.
She pushed the heavy door open and Nelly walked to her side to get a view of the room. A big king sized bed stood in front of them. The bed was occupied with two girls in lingerie and a man, sandwiched between them.
Diana wasn't fazed. She walked in and stood in front of the bed, her hands folded. "I see you're still whoring around, John."
John, her husband sat up on the bed and smiled. "Well, after all this time I finally get a visit from my beloved wife."
"Please, why would I want to see my promiscuous husband? I'm here on business."
Diana glared at the girls lying down beside her husband.
"Get out." She commanded.
The girls flinched and got out of the bed quickly, grabbing their clothes from the floor and scurrying out of the room.
"Aw, come on. You should've been nicer to them."
"I've never been nice to anyone John. Now," She walked over to the long black sofa close to the bed and sat down on it. "Lets talk."
John ruffled his dark brown hair and threw his legs out of bed.
"You haven't come see me in years, so this must be important." He said as he threw on a bath robe.
"Yes, it is. It's about your son's wedding. You need to be there."
John picked up the bottle of water that sat on the bedside table and sighed. "You know how much I hate crowded events Diana."
"Yes, and I don't care. This marriage is important and we have to appear there, like a normal couple. If I go there alone, it would raise suspicion. After all, we always go to events together."
John took large gulps from the bottle and exhaled.
"There you go again, always scared of what people would say, always scared of getting your reputation dragged down into the mud."
Diana glared at him, cocking her head at slightly. "Like you're the one to talk. Who was the person that begged me to cover up their scandals after you were openly caught kissing a model in public?"
John felt like he had been slapped in the face. He became mellow. Diana knew she had gotten her message across.
"I'll send you the details of the marriage to you later. You know what happens if you don't attend, right?"
John didn't answer, he just stared at the ground. Diana smiled to herself.
