Chapter 13 - Trial

Mikhail lost consciousness instantly, overwhelmed by the force of the vortex. When he awoke, an intense headache and nausea greeted him. He struggled to stand up, his body trembling as he tried to regain his bearings.

"What's happening to me?" he wondered, attempting to focus. "And where am I?"

As he calmed down, Mikhail realized he was in a completely dark room. The pitch-blackness enveloped him completely, leaving him with no sense of direction.

"Where am I?" he muttered to himself, feeling disoriented. "I just entered that house, and now...what the hell is this?"

Despite his frustration, Mikhail remained steady as a rock. "Hello?" he called out, his voice echoing in the darkness. He knew it was unlikely anyone would answer, but he had to try.

He felt confused and unsure. Was this some sort of illusion or a warp gate? Since arriving in this world, Mikhail had encountered nothing but deadly situations and misfortunes. He knew he was about to experience even more of humanity's cruelty, which could be far more potent and unpredictable than any monster.

Thankfully, he hadn't integrated too deeply into society yet; otherwise, he might have become possessed by an old monster or turned into a lab experiment. For now, all he could do was wait for his strength to return while moving slowly through the darkness.

Despite his enhanced senses, Mikhail could not see anything in front of him. His exhaustion was overwhelming, and he felt scared and helpless. But he had learned from past experiences to suppress his emotions and remain calm, as fear of the unknown was common among humans.

He moved cautiously through the darkness, taking measured steps. The vast emptiness seemed endless, swallowing up everything in its path. The silence was deafening, save for the sound of his footsteps echoing back at him. Mikhail strained to see through the inky blackness, but there was nothing to be seen. The void had consumed everything, and he was left to wander aimlessly through its depths.

As he journeyed further into the abyss, the sense of isolation became unbearable. Mikhail felt like he was the only living thing in the universe, trapped in a purgatory of eternal darkness. Every time he thought he saw a glimmer of light or a hint of movement, it turned out to be a mirage, a cruel trick of the mind.

Days turned into weeks, and the weeks turned into months. Mikhail lost track of time, but he refused to give up. Despite the endless hunger slowly consuming him, he pushed on. "Am I going to die here?" he muttered in pain, gritting his teeth.

Despite the hopelessness of his situation, Mikhail refused to surrender. He knew he had to keep going, to conquer his fears and emerge stronger. The darkness was not his enemy, but his ally. It was a test, a challenge, and he was determined to overcome it.

What was surprising though, is that he didn't die of hunger despite staying in this place for a long time which is good.

"Is this just an illusion? or is time here slower than the outside world? then where can I be ? Damnit the more I ask the more Questions there is"Mikhail thought in frustration.

Mikhail's mental fortitude was pushed to its limits. He spent hours meditating, strengthening his inner resolve and sharpening his focus. He used his imagination to conjure up images of a brighter future, a life free from the darkness that surrounded him.

"I wonder if Hera is worried about me," he thought, trying to distract himself from his situation.

Despite his struggles, he remained resolute. Mikhail felt as if he was on the verge of discovery, that there was something just beyond his reach. He refused to give up, determined to emerge from the darkness and find his way back to the light.
