The gift was none other than a cane, a magical cane to be exact.
The cane was a deep, rich mahogany, polished to a high sheen that shimmered in the light. Patterns of swirling vines and blooming flowers seemed to dance along the wood, their details so fine they seemed almost alive.
When Oscar used the staff, a green light emanated from the wood within seconds as if it wanted to recognize him as its master. The height of the cane had been adjusted to his height so that his back did not have to bend at all when he walked.
"Oh, the cane helps me walk more comfortably," Oscar said as he tried to walk with it. He felt as if the cane was helping to support his body weight, making each step feel so light.
Ruby smiled broadly as she saw how happy everyone was after opening the gifts from Lucas. "He must have chosen these gifts with great consideration."
"What about you? What did you get?" asked Oscar.
