Edda didn't say anything because she didn't really understand Cordell's words. Ruby, on the other hand, smiled at him, happy that Cordell had finally accepted the decision that Matthew and she wanted.
"Who would have thought those bastards would accept your decision so easily." Cordell sighed. "After all, you both have charms that are hard to explain, especially Her Majesty."
Ruby looked at him confused, "But I didn't say anything before."
"Your presence alone is enough to melt the heart of the rock-hard lycan. Besides, don't you realize that those bastards became nice as soon as they found out you were pregnant?"
"Could you stop calling them bastards?" Ruby whispered, "I think they can hear your voice."
Instead of heeding Ruby's warning, Cordell laughed out loud as if he didn't care about the people around him. "They know it's my pet name for them! Besides, those bastards wouldn't attack this old man just because I spoke rudely to them."
