Liviana wrote the three symbols on Ruby's forehead and chanted, "With this blood, I would unite two lives into one. May the moon guide his soul to us."
Ruby closed her eyes as she felt a warm energy flow from her forehead to her entire body. The blood on her forehead slowly glowed along with the blood on the floor.
"I just need you to listen to my voice carefully until the ritual is complete." Liviana held Ruby's cheeks and whispered softly, "Do not listen to any other voice, not even the wind.
Liviana glanced at Matthew, signaling him to stay away and not make any noise that might distract Ruby's concentration. He slowly backed away and stood silently by the door.
But his gaze was still on his wife. If the ritual had gone wrong, he would have gotten Ruby out of the room immediately before she got hurt.
"You must kneel," Liviana ordered. She walked behind Ruby so as not to be an obstacle between her and the circle of blood.
