"We're just wasting our time, Ruby." Matthew sighed as they walked onto the rocky road before them. "I don't even know if that reptile is lying or not."
"But, I know," Ruby gave a demanding gaze to her husband because she didn't want Matthew to insult someone who wanted to help them. "Besides, we don't have any choice. You don't even know how to get out of this place, so instead of making a scene it's better to follow his advice first."
Matthew felt reluctant to move his legs, but since his wife didn't want to stop, he couldn't let Ruby go alone either. Perhaps it was not that he didn't believe Rollos' words, but he didn't want to meet the mother who had abandoned him since he was born.
Along the way, Matthew predicted what his mother looked like. When he still lived with his father, there was not a single painting depicting his mother's face, so Matthew never knew her face.
