When Brandyn became king, the curse lasted for sixty years, and he did not want his people to suffer for another forty years. He did all sorts of research and investigations to make the land of Tredo fertile and prosperous again.
Unfortunately, none of Brandyn's efforts ever succeeded; even the Emperor couldn't provide much help to them. As long as their land was not fertile, the Tredo Kingdom had to rely on food from outside the kingdom.
Due to high shipping costs and taxes, food ingredients in Tredo were always overpriced, leading to many cases of famine. Strangely, the fish swimming in the sea near Tredo would also die as soon as they approached the shore, forcing fishermen to go to the middle of the sea.
"However, the fishing boats back then were not as good as they are now because the fishermen would rather use their money to buy foods from other kingdoms instead of building a more decent boat," Brandyn remembers.
