Oscar and Matthew eventually stopped teasing her because they didn't want to make Ruby angrier. Nonetheless, they still occasionally exchanged glances and chuckled.
Ruby gripped the knife tightly and thought she might have to rip their mouths out to make them stop laughing. However, before those evil thoughts could come true, Lucas touched her arm and said, "Your Majesty, you look more refreshed this afternoon. I guess you rested well last night."
Lucas' words made Matthew and Oscar stop thinking about Ruby's jokes and pay closer attention to her appearance. Oscar tilted his head as he observed his sister's face. "He's right. Your skin looks more radiant! Are you satisfied with the result of the court, so you sleep in happiness yesterday?"
Ruby placed her cutlery on the table, then touched her skin which felt softer. Maybe the pressure she felt had dissipated after the court ended, but she was sure her appearance had improved because she had made love to Matthew all night.
