Benjamin held his breath for a few moments. He also felt confused because he thought it was unethical to hit the King in court. He then turned around to face the Emperor.
"Your Majesty, what do you think?" asked Benjamin in a low voice.
In contrast to Benjamin, who looked hesitant, Osbert looked excited, as if he was looking forward to the moment when Matthew was whipped before his eyes like a criminal.
He had accumulated a lot of resentment toward Matthew since he became the King of Veritas, so when there was a chance to see someone hurt Matthew, even just once, Osbert was happy to see it.
"I don't mind. If it can prove the truth, then I give permission," Osbert said loudly.
Once the Emperor had given his permission, Benjamin no longer had any reason to hesitate. He nodded and said, "I permit His Majesty the King of Veritas to receive the whip to prove the resemblance of the lash wounds on Her Majesty's back."
Matthew smiled. "Thank you, Your Honor."
