Ruby's carriage stopped in front of the morgue. The morgue's location was on the city's outskirts, so there weren't many houses around the morgue.
As Edda stared at the black and gray building from the carriage window, she began to wonder why they would stop at such a creepy place if they wanted to see her mother.
However, Edda did not dare to ask for fear that Ruby would not let her meet her mother if she asked too many questions.
"Edda, let's get out." Ruby extended her hand in front of Edda so that she could help the girl down from the carriage.
Ruby could see the color of Edda's emotions change from enthusiasm to confusion and worry. Although Edda had never been to the morgue, it seemed that children could always detect scary places.
"It's okay, Edda." Ruby took Edda's hand and carried her. "You are saved with me."
