Snow fell again in Trigas that day, bringing a cold temperature that made many people shiver from the cold. A strong wind also hit the city, moving akin to the waves on the open sea.
Due to the snow, Matthew and the soldiers struggled to cover all the patient tents with thicker fabrics. They also dug up the snow that had accumulated on the ground so that the air temperature around the clinic would not get colder.
Ruby watched Matthew shoveling snow from the window of the clinic. Her eyelids seemed drooping, and she couldn't stop sighing heavily as Ruby was lost in her own thoughts.
She had been standing beside the window for an hour, waiting for Basen, who was removing his scales inside Nikolai's room. He didn't want to be disturbed by anyone else while he was pulling the scales, so Ruby and Nikolai had to wait outside.
"How many scales does he have to remove?" Ruby asked Nikolai.
