"Tell me, where have you traveled?" asked Matthew as Basen sat in front of him and Ruby.
Basen wasn't even invited to eat or drink, but Matthew was already interrogating him viciously.
"At least give me a drink before asking questions," Basen snapped.
Basen had left Veritas for more than two weeks with the excuse of wanting to search for the whereabouts of the demon fox that sold venenum poison. Therefore, Matthew hoped he would have good news after being gone for that long.
On the other hand, Ruby felt that the atmosphere between them was too tense, which made her uncomfortable. In order to warm up the atmosphere, Ruby gave Basen a glass of warm tea and asked him to drink first.
"Don't rush. Let's relax a little bit first," Ruby said.
Matthew also took a sip of the tea in his glass and closed his eyes momentarily. He no longer spoke with a cold intonation after Ruby asked him to relax.
