Matthew's order created turmoil in the Veritas Palace. Alger even felt his heart being gripped tightly when he heard Matthew wanted to refuse the emperor's request.
"Your Majesty, you have to think about it thoroughly. If we refuse the emperor's orders, won't you put Veritas in danger?" asked Alger with a gloomy expression.
"Alger, did you forget? The emperor also refused a request from Veritas," Matthew replied calmly.
"What happened?" Ruby, who had been silent all along, finally opened her voice out of curiosity.
She was a newcomer, so she needed to learn the problems Veritas had faced in detail.
Alger took a few deep breaths to calm himself before answering Ruby's question. "Let's talk in a more comfortable place, Your Majesty."
