Afternoon the parents meeting was over ,Peter brought Cloe , Beatrice and John to a restaurant for a meal ,he noticed that Cloe has been unusually quiet,"what's the problem with you Cloe ,you are so quiet?" Peter asked ,Cloe ignored him and went on eating.
"Is you husband giving you problems ,you two aren't even married for a year and you have started having problems ,you should have stayed with me !"Peter and , Beatrice knew what he was trying to do ,he wanted to provake her mother into making a scene.
"It's bad manners to talk while eating,"Beatrice said and went back to eating as if she wasn't the one who has talked , John looked at her and gave her a thumbs up,Peter was watching and saw what he did but he didn't say anything.
They went on with their meal silently until Peter decided to ruin the mood ,"Close if he is giving you problems you can just divorce him , it won't be your first divorce anyway,"Peter said , Cloe dropped the fork she was holding down and looked at him , Beatrice and John could even hear her breathing.
"Mother , it's alright , I think that father and Stephanie are waiting for is at home ,we should get going so that we don't end up making them worry ,"Beatrice stood up and said , Cloe heard what her daughter said and she calmed down.
Although Cloe was a trouble maker sometime she was a very good person ,she has divorced her ex husband because she had had enough of him ,she has tried to be a good wife but he has never seen that ,he could even bring his mother and sister to their matrimonial home to insult her.
As a good wife and daughter-in-law she was supposed to take everything in silence and she has done just that for a matter of fact ,she thought she was doing that for her kids .
One day she overheard Beatrice and John discussing their father's promiscuous life style , that same day Peter has returned home in the middle of the night ,as usual he started calling Cloe all shots of name , Beatrice who haven't slept yet come and threatened to beat him badly if he dared insult her anymore.
The next day the kids advised her to get a divorce , they argued that she deserved to be happy , they promised to go with her wherever she went ,after she divorced she feel in love with Stephen but she was afraid of history repeating itself, when she talked to them about that they advised her to go for it.
"Beatrice , John , the two of you don't have to go on living with someone and even calling his father while he isn't your father besides your father is still alive,"Peter said before they left.
"We are going very fine for your information ,you don't have to worry ,the man you are talking about treats us like his own kids ,he also treats mother the way she deserves,you know something ?"Beartice asked and looked at him
"I always wish that he is my birth father ,"Beatrice said ,"I heard that you have already gotten married , your new wife has four kids ,why don't you concentrate on raising them ,"John said ,he got hold of his mother's hand and left with Beatrice following behind them.
"Come ,calm down ,he wanted to just to annoy you , don't let him win ,"John said to her mother , they finally got into the car but Beatrice and John couldn't let their mother to drive in that condition , they called Stephen to request his driver to pick them up.
Stephen was very far away and he was with his driver so he couldn't be of much help to them , Beatrice and John knew how to drive but they didn't have a driver's license, they didn't want to get in trouble without the traffic police.
Beatrice finally called Stephanie and she agreed to come over for them,all this time Peter was standing outside the hotel looking at them ,he couldn't guess why the car wasn't driving away but he still watched with interest
Stephanie who have boarded a cab finally arrived ,he paid the driver and alighted ,Peter show her ,he knew she was Cloe's stepdaughter, Stephanie opened her bag to retrieve her bag to retrieve her phone.
Peter immediately walked towards her , Stephanie has already dialled Beatrice's phone number and she was waiting for the call to get connected when she saw a man approaching her , the cab hasn't driven away yet , Stephanie guessed that the man wanted to board the cab so she moved away.
"Young girl ,are you trying to avoid me ?"the man asked,the call has already got connected and Beartice heard her father talking to Stephanie ,she looked at her mother in shock ,"what happened , isn't she coming to pick us up ,I told you guys if you let me drive were would be home already,"Cloe complained.
'I think that Stephanie is here , father may have stopped her ,I heard his voice ,I think Stephanie doesn't have an idea that he is our father ,"Beatrice informed her mother ,"if Stephanie doesn't know that he is your father ,then you are definitely talking about Peter ?"Cloe asked.
Beatrice nodded her head , Cloe picked her hand bag and got out of the car , Beatrice and John also alighted, they all tried to look for Stephanie ,"she is there , Stephanie is there ,"John informed them as he walked towards them , Cloe and Beatrice followed behind her.
"You are so pretty young lady do you know that ?"Peter asked her but instead of getting an answer someone hit him very hard on his head ,he turned to look at who had hit him and he was met by Cloe's ready to kill eyes.
"You piece of trash , how dare you try to mess with my daughter ?"Cloe asked as she went on hitting him all over his body with the bag,"why are you so protecting ,she is only a step daughter ,what if she was your biological day , would you have killed me?"Peter asked .
"There is no difference ,she is my daughter and no one is allowed to mess around with her ,"Cloe said while hitting him ,the common has already started attracting attention and more people were watching them , Stephanie , Beatrice and John got hold of Cloe's hand and moved her to the car .
They all boarded the card and it drove off.
