Kit felt a burst of exhilaration spread around his body. His heart started beating frantically. Weird giggles escaped his mouth in little fits. HE WAS GOING TO BUILD A TOWN AND A LEGENDARY RESTURANT! Kit felt like his soul was going to fly out of his body. This was just as exciting as finding the treasure map. No, more exciting!
Kit let himself roll around in happiness on the ground until he naturally started to wind down from his excitement. Once he felt stable enough, he brought up the information about becoming a Spartan Fire founding member. He had been too excited to read it properly earlier.
'Haha! My brain is going to melt from all this excitement. A share of 5% of town income. If we can raise the town to a city this would be a decent income. If I receive income from my restaurant and the town then I would have no problem keeping up with the monthly bills.'
Kit was getting giddy from his renewed excitement. He finally glanced at the last part of the information. 'Holy purple eggplants! Triple experience! This … how?' Kit could not believe what was in front of his eyes. With triple experience getting to level 100 would be a lot easier. He could once again feel getting to the treasure was achievable.
Kit's weird giggles returned. He rolled to his side and could see Mars. A strange smile was on the young man's face. He saw that Kit was looking at him.
"Kit I'm so glad I met you. I don't want to even think about playing without you. My time in CAL would be so boring."
"Same Mars, it's good to have a friend to experience all the good stuff with." Kit would not trade playing with Mars for anything in the world. If people could pick their family, Mars would absolutely be his brother.
Kit heard a rustle on his other side and rolled over to see Twix with a sad look on his face. Kit realised Twix was probably feeling left out. Instead of coaxing him with words Kit decided a bit of bonding was in order. He and his old friends used to wrestle each other when they were overly excited. Kit decided a bit of silly play was in order.
Kit tackled Twix and started to tickle him. Mars soon joined in and all three of them were soon out of breath slumped on the ground. They all had stupid grins plastered on their faces.
"Have you three calmed down now? Then it's time to talk about your new responsibility's."
Kit sat up so he could see the old man. His smiling face was gone and replaced with a serious air. Kit felt like he was back in school in front of the headmaster. His back automatically straightened and he gave the elder his full attention. Next to him the other two were doing the same.
"That's better. Now this old man is going to resign from the founding member position he holds. I want to spend more time fishing instead of worrying about the town. I've been looking forward to retiring for a long time now."
Kit gaped at Grandpa's words. He had a strange feeling he had been taken for a ride and he and his friends had fallen into the old man hands. His exhilaration about thinking he was clever getting an extra bonus in becoming a founding member soon disappeared. It looked like this was the old man's shrewd plan from the start.
Kit could only take his hat off to this crafty old fox. He was not going to complain though because they all benefited from this arrangement. Kit brought his thoughts back to what the old man was saying.
"Spartan Fire now has 50 residents. So, the first step to becoming a small village is complete. It is not the only requirement to leveling up to a small village. You three will have to work hard to complete the rest of the tasks involved to evolve Spartan Fire."
"The first thing you should work to complete is a town hall, without one you can't have access to building blueprints. You will need those so we can have a range of buildings on offer to entice new residents to town. The town hall is the only blueprint I possess to pass on to you three. Think of it as my congratulation gift."
Kit felt like a bucket of water had been dumped on his head. They had to build a town hall, he knew absolutely nothing about building! Kit started to realise even though it sounded great to be involved in leveling up Spartan Fire, he had no clue how to achieve this.
Kit started to feel panic rising. This wasn't going to be the walk in the park he thought. For some reason he had thought buildings would magically appear. How could he have been so stupid? 'O.M.G. I have doomed myself. I shouldn't have thought I would be capable of evolving Spartan Fire, why was I so confident?'
While Kit was starting to spiral into a depressed state Grandpa was still talking.
"Now Kit before I resign from my position, let me hand over the piece of land I promised first. I was going to give you a small section of land by the lake to begin with. Now you are a founding member so the land you require will need to reflect your position. So…, I have decided to give you the best plot next to the lake."
Kit took a moment to register the old man was talking to him. He was so lost in his thoughts of inadequacy of evolving Spartan Fire he didn't fully comprehend what the old man said. He blinked blank eyes at the elder.
"Ahh, look at you being so happy you can't even voice words. It fills my heart with happiness seeing you young ones like this. Follow me and I will show you your new land."
Kit finally grasped what was being said. 'Holy Christmas feast! Land! I'm getting free land.' All his earlier thoughts went up in smoke, all he could think about was having land for his restaurant. He was finally going to start his dream! Kit couldn't get up off the ground fast enough.
"LET'S GO!"
Kit couldn't help but to shout. This was his dream! He was going to have his very own slice of heaven right in front of him. He could build his restaurant today! Kit felt his anticipation climb. He felt his mood soaring. He impatiently followed Grandpa over to the lake.
Kit glanced back as he realised Mars and Twix weren't following. He watched as Mars took of Pint's lead and left him to wander around freely. He then turned to Kit and smiled. Kit had been too distracted to even think about Pint.
Now that Pint was taken care of, Kit quickly returned his focus back to Grandpa. The old man was now halfway towards the lake. Kit quickly ran to catch up, he didn't want to wait any longer to build his restaurant!
"Kit my boy, calm down, we will be there in a moment. I can feel your impatience rubbing on my back." The old man was laughing as he spoke. Even though he told Kit to calm down the old man quickened his pace. They soon arrived at the bank of the river.
"Your land starts from here and goes all the way down to the large silver acacia tree off in the distance. It's the tree with silver bark and red fluffy flowers. I figured this is a decent size piece of land for a founding member. What do you think? Do you accept it?"
Kit stared in open wonder at the size of the land. This was well beyond what he had thought he would be receiving. His mouth opened and closed with no words escaping. He couldn't formulate a response.
He tried to get the word yes out, but it seemed impossible at the moment. All he could do was act like a fish opening and closing its mouth. Next to him all three people were laughing. Kit couldn't even spare a thought to care. After his mind finally calmed down from the shock, his voice started to work once again.
"YES! YES! YES, I ACCEPT!"

Player Kit is now the owner of a small farm in Spartan Fire.
Land bound to player Kit.
Unlocked: land development.
Kit felt his body spasm at the sight of the words. 'It's a damn small farm. I could build 100 enormous restaurants on this piece of land and still have room left over. Ahaha, I'm going to build the most luxurious restaurant anyone has ever seen.'
Kit's mind started to swirl with all his future plans. He could feel his excitement peak then it exploded. He really felt like he was going to experience a heart attack with the pace of his heart. It was galloping at a chaotic pace.
Kit ran forward and hugged the old man. "Thank you so much. This is the best present I have ever received. I will work hard to make you proud."
Kit meant all the words he spoke, he was going to work his little butt off to make this the best restaurant in all of CAL. He couldn't wait to start building his restaurant straight away. He just didn't know how to go about starting. He let go of the old man and tried to calm himself down.
He needed a clear head before he even contemplated starting. Once his chaotic mind settled, he realised he could just ask the old man what he needed to do.
"Grandpa I want to start building my restaurant today. Can you tell me how to do that?"
"Kit I'm sorry that won't be possible. I already told you that you will have to unlock blueprints to have access to buildings. The only thing you can build right now is a mud hut to live in. But if you build that on this land then it will turn into your residence, and you will not be able to build a restaurant on the land."
"You will need a separate block of land to build a place to live. I can sell you one now before I retire from my founding position. That way you can at least build a house to live in today."
Kit's excitement came crashing to a halt. 'What the fuck is this? I can't even build a basic restaurant until I unlock the blueprint.' Kit felt like crying. He had no choice but to give up on building his restaurant right away and start evolving the town before he could realise his dream. Kit's whole face crumpled.
"Kit it's ok. We can start building the town hall today if you like. Then we can figure out how to unlock the blueprints for your restaurant. You wanted a few more recipes anyway before you opened the restaurant. Right?" Mars tried to comfort Kit.
Kit took a breath. Mars was right, he wanted more meals available to sell before he officially opened. A small wait to unlock blueprints wouldn't matter. Kit felt his excitement start to grow again. He owned the land he needed, and it was huge!
Kit felt better after Mars brought him back to reality. Kit thought about what Grandpa had said about buying a piece of land to build a house. Now they were permanent residents of Spartan Fire this would be a good idea.
"Grandpa I will buy a piece of land to build a house. How much will it be?"
"How big a piece are you wanting?"
"Just enough to build a house should be fine."
"Ok then 100 bronze crowns should be enough. You can have the land next to Twix' house."
Kit's eyes widened at the price of land. Buying in a town before it developed was really worth it, the price was so cheap! On the spur of the moment Kit decided he should buy a large farm plot as well. That way he could grow ingredients on it in the future. Plus, if he brought it now it would be at an affordable price for him.
"Grandpa can I also buy a large farm. That way I can grow the food I will need for my restaurant right here in Spartan Fire instead of having to get it from a market."
"That's a wonderful idea Kit. I'll sell you the best farm site available. Let's see, this one should do. It will be 20 silver crowns."
The old man looked very pleased with Kit. "You have only been a Spartan Fire resident for 30 minutes and you are already thinking about its future. I really did pick a good person to evolve Spartan fire."
"Thanks Grandpa. I will do my best."
Kit thought he had no choice in the matter now. He really would have to work hard to grow the town if he wanted a successful restaurant. Kit handed over the money to Grandpa to finalise the sale.
