Chapter 95 - Greed

After everything was cleared up, Kimi went to pack her things and went back to where her three main Pokémon were competing against each other.

Espeon was trying its best to lift and hit objects with its psychic abilities unfortunately she had not yet learned a stronger move than Confusion so her range of use of her psychic abilities was rather limited in terms of how proficient she was able to do certain tasks.

She could not lift that heavy objects and could not control them with a high amount of precision but she could send out an aimed psychic wave that would hit her desired target.

Occasionally she would run around to exercise her body while trying to keep up with Tyrogue and Growlithe who were both busy competing more seriously against each other.

She began to watch them finishing up their training for the day as she thought to herself. 'It is good that we managed to avoid another battle that would escalate everything to a point of no return.

However this has once again made me realise that old habits and behaviours are just too difficult to give up no matter how strong my resolve is to change myself.'

If Kimi was going to live according to the goal she set herself then she would not have intervened since it would not really benefit her in any way.

It was the same for previous events too where she could have avoided being caught up in a dangerous situation.

There were just far too many behaviours that were built into her as someone who had already lived two lives protecting others and maintaining the law.

No matter how she tried to deny that part of herself, she still found that she was much too softhearted to ignore certain events that were happening around her.

No matter how selfishly she wanted to live this life which could be her very last with no other chances to repeat it again, she still could not fully abandon the more caring part of herself.

It was like wanting one thing without being fully willing to abandon another thing to achieve it.

Kimi felt like she was being greedy for thinking that it was okay to live her life that way since it was like wanting to achieve two separate ways of living at once which was far too much to achieve.

However when she thought about it further, the kind of life she wanted to live was a purely selfish one where she lived for herself and pursued her goals.

There was enough room in that for other things since she had decided to live her life selfishly.

If it was greedy to want more than one thing then that would just mean that she was living according to how she originally planned.

Any decision that she made was her own and was no longer a part of some orders or duty so everything that Kimi decided to do would be something she would do with no regrets afterward.

The more that Kimi thought about it, the clearer her thoughts were and the confusion she felt was slowly dispersing.

As her mind was clearing and she was becoming more relaxed, a figure appeared in front of her blocking out a lot of light and casting a shadow over her.

The sudden change caused her to become more aware of the presence close to her so she opened her eyes and looked up to see the Karate Master.

He looked towards her looking down at her silently before bowing. "Thank you for clearing up that mess while I was away. If it is not too much trouble then can I ask you a favour? Come to my office."

Kimi nodded before following behind him entering his office where they both sat on mats on top of the flat wooden floor. "So what is it that you wish to ask of me?"

The Karate Master responded in a thankful tone of voice. "I thank you again. This is not the first time they have done something like this and it would probably not be the last.

I heard that you came to the defence of the Dojo and helped out Mutsuwa out of a pretty bad situation so I am all the more thankful. What I would like to ask of you is that you hand over a copy of what you had recorded.

I am not asking you to hand over the real thing, just a copy will do. I know that it is best to keep a record of some past events just in case the same problem crops up again later."

Kimi was curious and asked. "What do you plan on doing with it?"

The Karate Master sighed in response. "I will have to talk to the Gym Leader next door to try and settle the matter privately. I cannot go in there with baseless accusations with no evidence and only some eye witness accounts of what happened.

I need something more concrete if it will be effective in gaining some response from next door since the students there are mainly acting out when I am away or when there is less witnesses around."

Kimi listened to him explain and understood. "Alright. It is only a copy so use it however you want. So long as it does not affect my daily life, I have no problems with it."

The Karate Master bowed expressing his gratitude. "Thank you."
