The surrounding people of the dojo had watched on as Kimi walked towards the open area where there were fighting mats placed on the ground. "Let's get this over with then."
Each Dojo or Gym had its own rules that they set and it was the same for some trainers that proposed their own rules for their battles.
Kimi may not have been to the Karate Dojo in her previous life since she was not living near Saffron City at that time but she did have the opportunity to visit some other places before her regression.
Those places had their own rules and styles of battle, the most standard battle was to use two to three Pokémon during the battle and to fight one on one each time.
There was nothing complicated about those ones but others had proposed that they would only fight in tag battles or against certain types of Pokémon so some would be disqualified from being able to fight them.
It was one of the reasons that it was much better to have a more versatile team available so that each of those requirements could be met.
The standard practice for the Dojo was that physical moves would only be allowed to be used in order for the Pokémon to work on their own body further.
If there were those that used any other types of moves then they would be disqualified so most trainers would enter using a normal or fighting type rather than others.
Growlithe was seen as being unable to put up a fight against the other girl's Pokémon due to it being at a disadvantage when it was not able to make use of its fire type moves.
Flame Wheel may have been a useful move to use in battles but it was useless in the Dojo where it would set fire to things unless the battle took place outside when there were no rules restraining her use of it.
It did not really matter if Kimi won one of the two battles that she was supposed to fight since she had to win both to be able to get the girl off her back.
She stretched her body a little before looking at the girl across the fighting mat. "I am ready anytime you are."
The girl had an excited look on her face which was different from her past attitude which showed that she was looking forward to the fight between them. "Announce it."
She may have disliked Kimi due to her prejudices but she was still looking forward to having a fight against someone that was close to her own age.
She was the senior in the dojo rankings and in age to Kimi so she was going to put Kimi in her place then she would see if Kimi had what it took to stick around.
Another person in a training robe had shouted. "Begin!"
Kimi and the girl opposite her had slowly walked towards each other once they had their sparring pads on and locked eyes with each other.
Both of their guards were up and none were willing to show an opening to the other, the girl had found that Kimi had kept the appropriate distance from her and did not jump in recklessly so she was both impressed and excited to see how good she was.
They circled each other around the training mat until the girl threw the first straight punch while maintaining her balance. "Hu!"
Kimi may not have had a well trained body like the girl opposite her who had trained often in the Dojo facilities but the original owner of the body did exercise and ate well.
In preparation for the officer registration tests, the original Kimi had tried hard to improve her physical fitness.
The fist came towards her face but it moved very slow to the eyes of Kimi who had experienced all kinds of fights in both past lives.
Even if her body had not fully matured and reached a stage where she could confidently overpower others, Kimi could still use her fighting experiences and intuition that had been gained from many dangerous situations to help herself gain the advantage.
The punch was avoided by stepping to the side and she had stepped inward so that she had got closer to the girl.
Her shoulder ducked under the arm that was being pulled back and her arm wrapped from under her arm to around the other side of her neck and shoulder.
The leg of Kimi moved towards the back of the leg of the girl and swiped her leg, the locked arm around the girls body helped to hold her and to guide her down to the ground safely.
The girl may have been the senior of Kimi and may have had a stronger body which had allowed her to win over those of her age group but in the eyes of Kimi, she was still too young and inexperienced so she had yet to remove her flaws.
Once the girl had hit the training mat after a single exchange, she did not have the opportunity to regain her composure once more due to Kimi not giving her the opportunity.
Kimi had used the moment that the girl had hit the ground to put her into a submission hold and she continued to apply the pressure. "Give up."
The girl struggled and tried to loosen the grip of the arms and legs of Kimi with her own hands while she tried to free herself by rolling around.
She almost escaped after exerting a lot of energy but Kimi did not give her the opportunity and had changed her position to a more advantageous one.
The pain and the lack of air had made the girl have more difficulties while her stamina was being drained the more that she struggled.
She had never faced anyone that did mixed martial arts and had only ever encountered some other styles from different Dojos or people that challenged the Dojo but she had never encountered someone as tricky as Kimi.
Kimi was like a snake that was coiling around her body and cutting off her escape while the struggles that she had put up had only served to wear her down. "Hah.."
She had no choice but to give in even if she was feeling too unjust about it, her hand hit the mat once then a second to third time.
"Contestant Kimi wins the first round!"
"Have a rest you two and we will begin with the next round."
"What will you be using?"
